Went to Wal-mart today to do some shopping with gift cards I recieved for christmas and some other Christmas shopping. While I was there I checked the All small and mighty price because my coupons I ordered for last weeks albertsons sale I grabbed a few bottles to get me through until I could find a better deal. Then i went back to the toy section to look around for a few last minute gifts. While we were back there my daughter said she had to go potty so my son took her and headed towards the bathroom. I followed them because I can not walk as fast as they can. When we got to the bathroom it was closed and they would not let my daughter in to go. The poor girl was standing there holding herself cause she really had to go. Well we had to head for the back of the store to the other bathroom and that was way to far for my daughter she did not make it. So I grabbed a checkout that was pretty much empty. I have been able to do self checkout before and use coupons fine. Well the 4 $1 off coupons did not want to scan. They were not internet printed or expired. So the cashier running the self checkout area comes over and asks me what the problem is. I told her I wasn't sure but the computer was having an issue with the coupon. So she suspends the transaction and takes everything to herr counter and disapears. Finally she returns and says well it won't scan I can not take it so i told her fine take the detergent off I need to go. So she walks off and gets another person and he comes over and gives me all sorts of trouble and accuses me of fraudulent coupons. I told him give me my coupons and take off the detergent had it not been for the cd I had been trying to find for months I woulda told him to take the whole order and shove it. So I looked him in the face and said look here let me pay you guys closed your bathrooms and now I need to go so my daughter can get a bath. He was like what do you want me to do about it. I said give me my coupons take the detergent off so I can go home bathe my kidf and then i can go to Target where they don't give me crap about the coupons. So he finally gives me my total and tells me I pushed them through like he had done me some big favor. OMG I go to target and use tons of coupons and they don't even blink at them I use 4 at Walmart and they act like total jerks. When I called the manager I told her I wanted to cash in my money orders because I will not be back she was all oh dont do that I will fix this. How am I supposed to know she fixed it she didnt take any information. So I called coorporate they said I will hear from someone in 3-5 business days. Walmart sucks

Good luck - I complained to Corporate about our Walmarts LONG waits in line, and all I got was a call from our local manager making excuses and telling lies about how "they just hired 7 new cashiers that will be on the floor in a week or so". That was over a month ago and the lines are still at least 10 customers deep, and they only have maybe 3 aisles open at a time when they have 24 that COULD be used!

I really dislike going to Walmart because of the waits in line, even self-checkout. But I've never had problems with my coupons there ~knock on wood~.

So sorry for you and your little daughter... how horrible for her!

Jenny, I'm sorry to hear that...I hate walmart, too. I just hate that about your little girl, too. Ours remodeled right around potty training time so you know that was fun. I only go to walmart if they have a size of something I need (like the small taster's choice packs or the soft packs of clean times with the $3/2 a while back). Other than that, I would rather pay more elsewhere. It is hard to get in and out of the store with kids b/c the store is so frigging big, and then you inevitably spend 20 minutes in line (and i swear they must have heat lamps up there or something b/c it is stifling). Not that it matters to most people, but their store is the worst to take infant twins to. Kroger at least has the double buggy thing so I can shop AND have my kids with no big hassles. Kroger also triples and doubles coupons and are very coupon friendly. I am loving me some Kroger. Pretty much my family will be eating whatever the heck Target and Kroger have a good price on!

I'm sorry to hear you had such a bad experience. Fortunately I've never had a bad time there, but I do know Walmart was rated as one of the top ten worst customer service businesses in the country. Keep your head up!

I avoid walmart at all cost they are the worst place to use coupons they don't even know their own policys. I stick to Wg,Targ and albies
when they opened our new walmart a mgr had me in tears I never went back so I feel you

I hate walmart also! I got a walmart gift card for xmas and keep thinking damn Do I have to use this crap here.....I wish I could get another giftcard for someother place.....

I am so sorry you had to deal with that. I have had it here at the local walmart. One of the employees yelled at my son last night. My son was sitting in his stroller playing with his leaspter. Been very sick. She said his toy was to load. I couldn't believe it. My mom took him out to the truck and she said to me well it's good he left cause his toy was annoying and he is a little brat. I said excuse me? she said yea he is a little brat. I said how do you figure that one out. child sitting in carriage quite playing with his toy yet he is a brat. Can't figure that one out and she wouldn't answer that one. I said you need to learn to keep your mouth shut. especially when you have no idea what you are talking about. I went up and called for a manager and complained he said well she is having a bad day. I said no excuse. if she is then leave. Don't take out your bad day on a customer. Belive me I will be calling corporate on this one tomorrow

Check over on FSOT Forum here on AFC and see if there is someone there to trade GC's with. There are a few postings already. You can also put your GC there for trade. I don't think you will have any problems trading it! Good luck!! HTH..............

I have had a lot of problems at walmart. They have a hard time accepting online coupons and even have refused to look into them for me. I have just mostly stopped shopping there now and got all my gifts and holiday stuff from target because they are really nice to me!!

I to only use Walmart when I have a q and it's free, to me. I got two of them this Xmas. One I gave to my daughter and one I kept. But you can also use the walmart gc's at Sams. For gas. THat's what we do.

I don't know if you have a Publix close by, but I was in one last week and they had a sign up saying that they were trading Wal-Mart gift cards for Publix gift cards.

I hear ya there if they didn't have terrible customer service they wouldn't have any at all....If I do venture in I don't ussually have a problem using pet food coup's they even paid me a $1 for buying iams healthy naturals. But I have had an employee run into me and just walk away I told a manager left the cart and walked out.

There is a website you can go to to trade your unwanted gift cards. I can't remember this site's policy on posting websites, so I'll just say that I typed " 'gift card' trade" into Google and it popped right up. My local newspaper had a story on this site on the front page of the business section not long ago, so I'm sure its pretty legit.

If you're not able to trade your Walmart giftcard there are some other options. Use it to buy gas at a Walmart with pumps (don't have to go in the store at all ;o) or use it to buy something onine then have it shipped "site to store" so you don't have to pay shipping. (You will have to go inside to pick up your item, but that shouldn't be too bad.) You might even be able to find some great clearance deals online and save even more that way.

To the lady who was told by the walmart employee that her son was a brat----I would have punched her in the face! Seriously. Once when my oldest was a little guy he pinched his finger on a cart at walmart, because something was loose, I don't know, but he started screaming because obviously it hurt. One of the floor workers told me I needed to shut my kid up because he was annoying, and I got so mad I started screaming at him in the middle of the store. No one, I mean no one tells me what to do with my kids! EVER. It got so heated the store manager came down to see what was going on, and they had security there ready to throw me out until I told them what was said to me and why my son was crying was because of their faulty ****ty *** carts and I would just call my brother in law because he was a lawyer, and next year they would all be working for me. Well, to make a longer story short, they ended up paying for my son to go see a doctor to check out his finger, and I got a pretty nice gift card out of it. I sold the gift card on ebay, got like 90% of it's value, took the money and went shopping at Target.

Yea, not a fan of Walmart either, but I do go for some good deals. Had a major issue with them a couple of months back. I was in a hurry and had several coupons I wanted to use just for the items in my cart. The cashier (express line) wouldn't accept any of them. First she said they couldn't take the one because it was for a free item (and the total did not say up to $x.xx) adn then the other two internet coupons would not scan. I being a polite person asked her to just key them in and she refused and said you shouldn't print fradulant coupons. I was like woah, and of course right at that point in time my daughter woke up crying and she was teethign which made it worse. So, as I am trying to comfort her and pay for the items. The cashier decides to talk to someone else and was rudely commenting on how annoying babies crying is and how she hates people with coupons. I left to get my daughter out of the store adn called the manager right when we got home. All I got was well I will look into it. Needless to say I was there the other day and she is still working there in the express line and the front end manager went over while I was checking out (self checkout this time) to tell her to stop talking to some guy instead of waiting on customers!!!

and stories like these on top of poor labor practices and everything else are the reason we avoid walmart at all costs. We do have a super walmart, but I rather wait for sales at regular grocery stores then deal with them.

I have been telling people for YEARS, Walmart sucks. Consumers go for the low prices but look at what you have to deal with, long lines, a long walk to the door, trashy people hanging out in the dirty parking lot, and "old police" worker working the entrance and exit door, bad customer services from overworked cashiers etc.,. Go to Target where there is no waiting in lines, great friendly customer service etc.,. Consumers are always complaining about prices but be wise and use your coupons and you will see you may even get a better deal! The bottom lines is the cusotmer service and Target does offer GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICES with far less hassle. Let's not mention they have a great STARBUCKS for you and the kids!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not at Walm

I too am a member of the Walmart haters club. I was in line behind a crazy lady trying to buy an entire grocery cart full of beer with a food stamp card. The cashier in her infinite wisdom couldn't figure out why it wouldn't work. I had already been in line for about 10 minutes, so I switched lines as I had to get home because one of my children would be getting off the school bus soon. When I swiched line, the new cashier says to me, "What are you in such a hurry for?" Excuse me!! Then she says something racial under her breath. I called the manager and he apologized and told me it would be taken care of. I don't really care as I will NEVER step foot in that place again, not even for freebies. Not worth it.
