I too am a walmart hater, they are so rude it is so unexcepable. I go with coupons for stuff i can't get elsewhere. I have had an employee run into me and not even say sorry or excuse me I was P*SSED to say the least. I told a manager if I didn't need what was in the cart really bad I'd leave it and walk out. That one called the manager of that section so I could tell her so she could go over there. I believe thier greeters should be more realistic and just say "welcome to walmart get your sh*it and get out". I am commited to spending the least I can there. I even pay 2 cents more for gas because I refuse to give walmart money. I am cheap but I like good customer service I shop walgreen's a lot they greet you and are so nice I love it.

Walmart Walmart Supercenters: every location is different

I stumbled across this argument about grocery shopping at Walmart, and I just had to respond.

I have found that when it comes to grocery shopping at Walmart, every location is different. I have been to some Walmart Supercenters where I have experienced rude employees, poorly stocked shelves and overall dirty conditions, but I have been to other locations where everything is great. I think that there are some stores where the managers just do a better job training their employees on good customer service and they keep store clean and well-stocked.

It is also important to note that grocery shopping at a Walmart Supercenter is different than a normal supermarket and it takes some getting used to. Supercenters are really big and they are laid out differently. A Supercenter has all of the non-food items that you find in a normal grocery store, like paper products, laundry detergent and health/beauty items, but they may be in a different part of the store, nowhere near the grocery aisles. The lay out of a Supercenter is frustrating at first, but once you learn that dog food and light bulbs are on the other side of the building, your shopping trips to Walmart can be just as efficient as they were at the old supermarket.

I must admit that there are two things I don’t like about grocery shopping at any Walmart Supercenter:
1. If you have young children, shopping with them at a Walmart Supercenter can be more difficult and potentially more dangerous than a normal supermarket because the store and the parking lot are so big. This is one of my wife’s biggest complaints about Walmart, but she doesn’t buy groceries very often.

2. Walmart doesn’t have store coupons at all, and they don’t seem to like taking manufactures’ coupons. I have heard the argument that coupons don’t fit into Walmart’s pricing structure because most of their food items are already at a lower price point. However their dislike of manufactures’ coupons doesn’t make sense to me because it is my understanding that retailers get reimbursed for these coupons, but maybe there is something about coupons that I don’t completely understand.
All of that said, I still like the Walmart Supercenter better than the old supermarket.

Your right Mike. They get the face value plus and additional .08 cents from each mfg coupon they accept. Free money in thier pockets it seems to me....

Amen to that happens to me all the time, there are three Wal-marts within 20 minutes from our house. I refuse to go to two of them. one of them did fourteen hundred dollars worth of damage to my brand new car, simple tire rotation guess it was too much for them the others are complete "A" holes never again be glad you have a Target to go to.

They don't have the lowest prices. I've price checked with a printed shopping list from two other stores. They will 'rollback' one or two items way below the sale at other stores and are more expensive on other items. There are good deals to be found with coupons. Latest example we found was on bike items. The exact same seat was $8 cheaper at Academy and Target. When they first opened they had the lowest prices but have steadily gone up.

Boy am I glad I have the Walmarts I have - I can't imagine having the problems and just plain rudeness that some of you have to deal with!

I worked for WM for 2 years about 4 or 5 years ago - it sucked LOL But as far as shopping at that WM, I enjoy it - I've never had a problem there or the one that is close to where I live now. I think it has a lot to do with the store manager though - if the store manager is foul about coupons or deal seakers then the whole crew will be too. I was lucky in that my store manager didn't care what we had to do - we were to make sure we had the lowest prices and made the customer happy. Now the store closer to where I live now is good - but no where near as good as the store I worked at LOL

Anyways - that being said...I still hate shopping there with the kids. I used to shop there once or twice a week - now it's maybe once a month, if that. I went tonight for the first time in close to 2 months! Oh wait - no - I did stop at my old store last week to get more of the All You mags - but I didn't venture past the checkout lanes LOL
