I just got back from Walgreens. We went to take advantage or the Buy One Get One Half Off on first aid supplies. I checked he receipt and found I didn't really get the half off on each pair of items. At the bottom of the receipt it said I saved $12, but the calculator said not. We went right back and the cashier tested everything. The POS kept saying it couldn't find the discount. After a bit of a wait, the manager came and voided everything and re-rang it all putting in manual discount code on each item. In the end I came out ahead. I ha a bad pairing of $10 neospoirn and $3 bandages. I ended up with $15 back. As fast as it was all corrected, I think alot of stores may not have had their POS updated right for the sale. I wonder how many folks only looked at the "you saved" line and missed it. I only looked close because I wanted to see how the coupons we had showed up with the store sale items. I'm really glad I checked!! |

I bought items Sunday and it showed one to be at lower price but it never actually took it off the half price. Manager tried to correct it for me and he said it showed an error on the system so he manually fixed it.

Wow! Same thing happened to me last week for the Almay makeup too! I had done my calculations before hand and checked my receipt questioning why I paid so much more than my claculatuons... Turns out they all said BGLP on them but the computer never took 50% off every second item ... So the manager refunded me the difference..

I have had this same problem with Walgreens for a long time. I actually quit going there because I always had to have the manager fix the problem. I actually told my husband that I was beginning to think that they did this on purpose, just hoping that the customer would not check the recipt.

| I completely agree and I told my husband the exact same thing! The past 3 times I've been to Wags I've been overcharged by either 50% not coming off right, by clearanced items ringing up different than the tags, or having the wrong item marked for the sale and telling people it was the right item when questioned. 2 of the 3 times it was by more than $10. I am not sure what the deal is, but the last time I called them on it the manager treated me like I was trying to rip the store off. It wasn't a good feeling and I haven't been back!

I have a bunch of issues on my receipt today too. Didn't realize it until I got home. The Listerine in ad coupon wasn't working and the cashier tried to override it but only got one out of the two so I'm short $3 that were not taken off of the other one ... plus couple other things that didn't ring up correctly. And NONE of the store coupons from today's ad or from the monthly booklet worked right ... all had to be entered manually so there's way too much room for error right now! Check, double check and triple check! ... was hard for me to do since I had two screaming toddlers, a double stroller and three bags of stuff (not shelf clearning ... just getting different items! )

yeah, Walgreens is infamous for this . . . their registers seem to be super-computers that no one in the store knows how to operate. When in doubt, ask for a manager.

I have found that many stores have sent me right back to the customer service counter with an issue. We have to remember that these are computers responsible for our transaction, and like it or not they make errors too.

I had a few errors on my receipts today too. Some I caught before I left and some not until I got home. I'm still trying to decide if I want to go tonight without kids (it's after 11PM here) or wait till tomorrow... Anyway, one receipt says that I paid CASH when all 4 transactions were on a credit card. I also got charged for 4 scuncis when I'd only purchased 2. The manager quickly fixed that error AND gave me the $2 RR for one of the items as cash back on my card. |
