most likely they are the old edition..my dad got my 2 sisters each one a few years ago and they were only $299..

oh yea..and i saw it on tv a little while ago..the laptop was advertised for this price!

actually, according to my computer savy co-workers (and the IT dept), you need a solid 2GB of memory to run windows vista....this one only has 512MB (0.5 GB)....so it may not work too well...it will be VERY slow...just so you know
