I went into yet another CVS today to search for the illusive Nova Max. I asked at the pharmacy, they called the manager, and he said "He thinks he read an email that the Nova Max had been recalled." I just thanked him and left.

Has anyone else heard this?

NO...I didn't hear that at all...I got 1 last night though...only 1 came in on the truck.....

I haven't heard anything. I've only managed to find 2 so far and I've looked from VA to MA. I've found 1 in CT and 1 in MA.

i checked a few recall sites and nothing is listed..... i think it may be a misunderstanding somewhere along the way...

Maybe the email really said pull them from the shelves (during the sale) and he just assumed it was a factory recall...

yes i was told that when i went to pick up the nova maxes pharmacy told me that they dicountinued them at the wharehouse so pharmacy told the manger about it and she said that home office had screwed up and some should be coming in next week i hope so because i really need them

im in va and im actually on my way this morn (8am) to go pickup the manager specially ordered for me, all 5!!!!! best part is i actually told him the whole deal about how i would get them free and such and he said yeah he can just price adjust the coupon. tomorrow should be an exciting day

My CVS has LOADS of the diabetes books at the pharmacy, but I feel strange grabbing more than one at a time--I've picked up two so far (I know, I'm dumb). I went there today specifically for the NovaMax deal that everyone is talking about, and of course, they had none on the shelf, but there wasn't even a sale tag there indicating they were on sale or that you could get ecb's with it, which made me wonder if this deal is still going on? I'll make a special trip tomorrow if it is...I'll call first to see if they have any before I go, of course!

So, is it still on?

yes...for at least 2 weeks. they do not always advertise the ecb deals on the shelves.

They are very hard to find....Our CVS said they were getting a shipment in today, so I went down to see, and NO monitors...so hoping maybe I'll check another CVS tomorrow...Good luck to you...

Don't they have the monitors behind the pharmacy counter? Not sure I haven't actually purchased a meter in probably 15 years - I keep getting free ones. But I thought they were behind the pharmacy counter since they are so expensive - same as the test strips.

I called a couple of stores in a 15 mile or so range and was told No, they don't have them. Just happened to be out that way and decided I would get the Contours. Well, guess what was on the shelf!! That's right!! They were not on the shelf out in the store with the others, but were on a shelf in plain view in the pharmacy! One CVS lady called the Mgr over, he looked at the sign on front of the empty shelf, very angrily jerked the sign off, tore it in half and told the girl to write me up a raincheck for $9.99! Stomped off and didn't even turn back around while I was asking him if I could get the ECB with the raincheck! Won't call anymore....will just do drop ins. While the ecb's are great, I am a diabetic w/o insuracce, DH is a diabetic. Test strips are MEGA bucks and I really just want the meters because they come with a few strips! If can't find the Nova Max, will do the Contour Rebate!

im wondering if they told them to take the signs down..the first week of the sale every cvs around me had the ecb signs up..i went to everyone around me yesterday and today (6 cvs's) and none had the sale sign up..

Ok I have been looking daily with everyone else for the Nova Max. I made a "friend" at CVS. Only because I have been in there so much lately. I was there last night and he said they got a truck in. First thing in the morning he was going to start unloading. I called him around 11 and he had not had time to get to the OTC tots and asked me to call him in two hours. I called and he took my name and number and said he was about to get to the tots. HE called me about 1 hour later and said that he did not have any. He called the warehouse and they DO NOT have any. They could not tell him when they would get some. He said they made the deal to good. He told me to come get a rain check. I asked him would I still get it free with the coupon and still get my $20.00 ebc bucks. He said yes but I am not sure..... I will just keep checking but I am getting upset. I want some bucks to work with next week. I only have $20.00 now. Good luck find some I am thinking of calling cs and asking why when they are going to put out a deal so good why they cannot make sure to have enough of the products available. One of my CVS was out of everything on sale this week. I hate that. HAHAHA

Every CVS in my area is having the same problem. The warehouse has none and even though they've ordered them, they're not getting any, as of yet. The only good news is that it's a month long deal, so maybe they'll get some in the next couple of weeks. On the upside, the contours and ultra minis are free with cpn., so maybe you can build on that with a $4/20. Good luck.

I've had the same problem in Arizona as well. I actually found 1 last week and was denied using the coupon. I then went to another store and was again denied using the coupon. I went to 5 more after and they were all out. I did call the 800 number and I was told to get a rain check. She told me they sent an email on 10/29 telling stores to take the coupon and how to price adjust it. She also said that because of the issues with the Nova max shortage and coupons being denied if you call customer care after you purchase your nova max with the rain check and the coupon, they will be able to set the $20 ecb onto your card to print the next time you use it.

That is the main issue I have with CVS: Not having enough sale products in stock. If I waste the gas to drive to their store to take advantage of their sales, then I expect there to be a sufficient quantity available. It's very frustrating when you've got a deal worked up, and then one or more of the products are already gone.

Well I just got back from 5 CVS"S stores tonight, and none of them had the Nova. ANd its not that I went to all of them, my daughter had a basketball game 2 1/2 hours away so when we would see a CVS store my husband would stop, or else I would of never went that far for a CVS store, but I couldn't believe it none of the 5 stores had it, matter of fact the one store said they never heard of it, go figure.....

i think it might have to do with the manufacturer of the meter..it is a brand new item and they were not expecting them to sell so fast..i mean they have had the merchandise..its just that soooo many people do cvs shopping these days with the coupons and ecbs so its basically who ever gets there first..and i think they also have to keep some in the pharmacy for people with prescriptions..but i guess that is only fair..

I have managed to pick up 2 Contours this week with the coupon. CVS, they were $9.99 and with the coupon, FREE as you know. There is a mail in rebate on the front for up to $50. Does anyone know if they allow this? I am going to try to mail it in just to try it. (even though it was already free) Heck it is worth the stamp if they do send me the $9.99. It does say though, one per househould. I will have to send the other to my mother's. Has anyone else tried this?

I didn't try it personally last time but responses on another forum were that they didn't pay off the rebate if a coupon was used. There were a number of people that tried & all reported failure.

Its pretty easy for them to spot the $30 coupon on the receipt and I believe the coupon states directly that any mail in reimbursement will be for the after coupon value. You can try, but I wouldn't get my hopes up......

They don't reimburse the coupon OR if you paid for it with CVS extrabucks.
