First Bad Experience

Went this morning to buy two jars of Ragu, some conditioner, and cake mix. There was a coupon in the paper yesterday for $.50/2 for the Ragu. With the Target coupon and the Manu. Q, the big jars were $.72 each... can't beat that! When I went to check-out the cashier told me that I wasn't allowed to combine the Target coupon and the Manu. coupon on the Ragu. I told him that I have used Target and Manu. on items many times before and never had a problem, plus neither coupon says I couldn't. He told me that wasn't allowed. The cashier read the fine print on both coupons and finally took the coupon.

While I was waiting for the cashier to get my debit card out of the payment machine (my card got stuck inside the machine), I pulled out my copy of their coupon policy and told him that they do indeed take both coupons for one item. Well he ignored me and handed me my receipt to sign.

When I got home, I called the store and asked if they take Target coupons and Manu. coupons on a single item, and the lady said, "I dunno. You can try and see if it takes it." I just wanted to see what they said. I won't be going through that cashier's line again! He was a young cashier... 20 something. I stinks that he made feel like I was doing something illegal.

Anyhow, just wanted to vent.

When I first tried it a few months ago, they did the same thing to me. She told me it would be like doubling coupons and they don't do that. Now I take a copy of the policy everytime I go in there, luckily I've never had to use it. (I stay away from that cashier)

I had this happen to me today! Both managers refused to take the Frito Lay Target coupon along with the Rold Gold coupon saying they could only take one because I couldn't get the item for FREE.. Well that is not what corporate said, nor their coupon policy. I am not going back to Target to give them my business again..everytime I go there they give me a hard time. EVERYTIME...plus their system never wants to take their own store coupons and they say because it beeps I cannot use it. Even the ones from the Kiosk..

Call the Target Coporate office THEN when this happens. The policy clearly states they will take both. I keep the policy AND the corporate office's number in my coupon binder and place the call myself, tell them what store I'm at and the cash register number. They WILL call the manager immediately and explain the policy. I've done this at the same store TWICE in the past month. It's SO frustrating having to "train" cashiers and store managers!

If you are correct and you KNOW you are correct, then don't let them bully you. Write the corporate office and explain the problem, they will email you back and call the store manager about the problems.
