Oh wow is that a good deal on pumpkin. Our Walmart has had some & it was 1.39 a can. That sold out quickly, they got some more in but it is now 1.50 a can. Our Cub Foods has libby's pumpkin as well & I think they have it for 1.29 a can.

I suggest to anyone who is in need of pumpkin stock up now. There is a major shortage & it could go into next year.

actually walgreens used to do rebates only, for the longest time...they would come in the monthly book which now contains Q, of course you could totally make some awesome rebate money in the form of a WAGS gift card or a check each month after mnfctr and Wags Qs were applied to your order. It looks like they are reverting back to some form of the rebate program along with the RRs.

They are probably trying to see if we will do the type of activity - and this way it doesn't count against their sales - that they have to wait to get their coupon money back from the manufacturer.

My DH works for Wags corp and I can tell when there are not good sales/good free items w/RR - they have the employee discount day of 25% off and then they will run the friends and family promo - which is almost ALWAYS a week that has a really bad sale - and normally the last week of the month. I am sure that it is a mattre of time before they announce these promos!

Here is an easy recipe I found at dealstomeals.com for the pumpkin that will be on sale. Looks pretty good to me!

Spiced Pumpkin Cookies
1 spice cake mix
1 can (15 oz) pumpkin
1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)
1 cup milk chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. With a spoon, mix cake mix and pumpkin together in a large bowl. Stir in nuts and if desired, chocolate chips. Drop by rounded spoonfuls onto a lightly greased cookie sheet. Bake 10-12 minutes. Cool 2-3 minutes on cookie sheet before removing to a nonstick rack to cool completely.

Yes I remember that, I like this was a lot better though, I liked getting it on a gift card, I do wish that they would bring back the old way completely.

I guess I could get used to the new way, I just need to get in the hang of rebates more!

The rebates are nice in that you can turn rr's into cash, but you have to find fillers, so in that sense it's a hassle. And like the one person mentioned, it costs a stamp/

Does anyone know if we can use the $0.50/2 Libby's canned vegetables IP on the pumpkin? I'm pretty sure pumpkin is considered a vegetable I mix 1 can of pumpkin per 1 box of brownie mix to make yummie healthier brownies. High fiber baby!

I looked at the bar codes for the pumpkin and that coupon and I believe that it would beep. So, while it is a vegetable, you may have problems using that coupon.
