Yesterday, I found a booklet called The 50 Million Pound Challenge by the pharmacy. There was a coupon for a free gift in the booklet. The free gift q also enrolls you into the ExtraCare Advantage for diabetes. I brought the q to the pharmacist and she scanned the q and my card. The pharmacist did not ask me if I was diabetic or not, although my DH is.

Today, I scanned my card at the magic coupon machine and popped out $2 ECB for joining ExtraCare Advantage!

Just in case there are no 50 Million Pound booklets, there is another booklet called ExtraCare Advantage for Diabetes. There's a q behind it as well but does not mention about a free gift. Not sure if this q would produce the $2 ECB.

I have to think that they are prohibited from asking you if you are diabetic or not, given HIPAA laws. (Not a lawyer, here, but I think that's how it goes) So, looks like they won't be allowed to turn anyone away, not that they'd want to.

You can sign up on the CVS ExtraCare website and the next time you scan your card at the red machine, a $2 ECB will print out.

It's a machine that is located near the entrances to most CVS's. You pretty much have to walk by one when you walk a few aisles into the store. You scan your card EVERY DAY, and receive coupons. Keep scanning until you get a message that says "Sorry, try again tomorrow" so you know that you've received all the coupons you are entitled too. Different people receive different coupons, except that most people get the same 2 coupons at least every day.

Sometimes you'll even receive a coupon for $$ off your entire purchase (most likely a $3/15, $4/20 or $5/25). Since the coupons from the machine are CVS coupons, you can pair them with manufacturer's coupons, even if you only purchase one of the item. If you receive a $/$$, give it to the cashier FIRST before all other coupons so that they take it off first. Then give your mfg q's and other CVS q's, the finally, pay with ECB's and, if necessary, money.

PS...the coupons that come from the machine are called CRT's (stands for Cash Register Tape).
