I went to K-Mart today and found 2 bottle of Herbel Essence for $1.50 each which equals $3 (well at least to me). I had a coupon for $3/2, well when the cashier scanned the coupon and entered $3 the register beeped and said the coupon exceeded the amount. So the lady told me that you cannot use coupons on clearance. So I just told her to forget it, I didn't want it. This was the only register open and the line was building up behind me. I have never heard that you can't use coupons on clearence. Just another reminder why I don't shop there.

No, that's not true! I have never used a coupon at Kmart, but I do know that the store gets the same ammount of money from the company reguardless of the price of the item. I would call and complain. If that's their policy (which I doubt it really is) they should have a sign out stating that.- Jamie

I used one of those coupons and it beeped as well. My cashier tried telling me the coupon amount exceeded the cost of the item. I pointed out it was $3 off two items, so I was perfectly within limits. She chatted with another worker then made it work.

Kmart is horrible about denying coupons in my area. I pointed out that holding their thumb over the upper portion will allow the coupon to go through in most cases. I also set each coupon on the item of conern when I unload the cart. I then make them check each one as they scan them. Needless to say, they havent denied a coupon in awhile. Most of the time though a manager has to come over to verify it all. I rarely shop there because of the hassle.

Yes our K-mart was the same way but now they have been closed over 3 years and I do miss the clearance on the clothes.

I quit shopping our Kmart when I discovered they dont adjust coupon amounts. I tried buying the Johnson's Body Wash on sale for $3.99, with a $4.00 coupon... the cashier was like "You can't do that" Like I was crazy! I was buying several items, some others which would've needed an adjusted amount, she scanned those items, and the same thing. She just kept saying "You can't do that".... Anyway, I emailed corp. and they confirmed that they do not price adjust coupons. I let them know I would not be shopping there anymore since it's a hassle for them to accept my coupons. For a company that's been barely staying above water, I would think they would be more customer oriented.

that girl was TOTALLY WRONG!! she should of made more of an effort to get it to go thru. Kmart DOES accept coupons on clearance. The ONLY KIND of coupons that most Kmarts DO NOT accept are internet coupons. I know.. cause I am a cashier at kmart. The only time that it won't take a coupon if is the price of the item you are buying is LESS than the coupon from my experience. We cannot change the amount of the coupon or item to make it go thru. We will get in trouble.. as far as I know.. LOL. It is employees like her who make the rest of us look bad.. GRRRRRR.
