Is it just my Kroger (TX) or do they all ask you to give your coupons to the cashier before paying? I remember I used to be able to scan coupons myself, and only give to cashier if they beeped.

Our Kroger (also in TX) has new "USCANS". As soon as they were installed, they now tell you to give coupons to cashier.

Another new thing at our Kroger....When you redeem a RX transfer coupon, the value goes on to your plus card, not a seperate gift card.

I have a friend that is a manager at Kroger and she said they have been having a lot of problems with people using expired coupons, and just using coupons the wrong way so they installed these new machines everywhere and hoping to cut down on the coupon fraud.

I guess you can't blame them. As much as I need a good deal, if they loose too much to coupon fraud they can't operate!

It is a pain to have to wait on the cashier if he/she is busy with someone else, but I tend to be a "get in, get out" person, particularly if I have the kids!

They do this at all Smiths in Utah, but not at Albies or Walmart.

our kroger lets you scan the coupons,but then you have to give them to the cashier when finished.
the coupon slot has tape over it
