I was in my Target the other day and saw a manager I had once bumped heads with, and she's now my fave manager! Always very accomodating and when/if there's any trouble she makes sure to handle it how it should be handled (and she once bought me a Starbucks for being inconvenienced by a crazy cashier ) I <3 her!

Okay 'nuf about that....but she came over when I was checking out to tell me that they happily take other stores coupons, as long as they say manufacturers coupons on them. She specifically said "like catalinas". She said I probably already knew, but honestly I didn't because if they say another store you all KNOW how picky other places can be, even if it DOES say manufacturers.

Well I went on my way, and when I was driving home was thinking about the RRs from Wags, they say manufacturers on them...

So when I was in Target today I had to find her and see! This would be totally awesome, since we know we can make great money makers at Wags and build up RR....

So I found her and asked her about the free catalinas for the Always from Walgreens. She said of course! As long as it says manufacturers. So I whipped out my RRs and asked her about those. She looked and said YEP sure do! It has a valid remit, manufacturers coupon at the top..and it's good on a future purchase. She was actually really excited that I was so excited LOL (and as you all know managers like this are far and few, but sometimes we're lucky!) I am just realllllly excited about this...this takes my Wags & Target shopping to a whole new level!!

To roll the RR from Wags into gift cards from Target (as in gift card deals and using item coupons plus RRs to pay the difference) is a DREAM COME TRUE!! (for me anyways) I hope you all can use this to your advantage, and your store has the same policy. Never hurts to ask!

If this is the case, they have not updated the coupon policy. It still says Target does not take coupons from other retailers.

Yep, hoping it's all stores. I am going to call the other 2 Targets in my area tomorrow and check with them. She acted like it was new, so maybe they'll update the policy. Never hurts to ask if your Target does.

Sandra I would ask your Target and see if they take other stores coupons if they say manufacturers. It may be something new in the process and other Target stores will follow suit.

Sorry you had a bad day at Wags! I've had a few before and contacting corp followed through for me. Hope it works out well for ya

I did do the Corp thing .....I will follow through.... I was a CSM at JoAnns... That is thier job to know every policy and spread the news..... I do not know maybe I am just tired... Thanks Lindsey... I needed a shoulder.... Now I feel better....

I asked at mine today and they refused. IMO they don't really listen to the question they just answer what they think the answer should be. I don't want to cause a scene, and I appreciate all the couponing I do there, so I just asked, was refused, and went on with the transaction.

Note: the coupon did scan, but it said item not here for the product. The cashier called over the manager and she refused it w/o really listening. I wonder if she hit K1 if it would have gone through?

I will try again maybe, but I might have to have a copy of the policy in hand before I have luck! Thanks for the heads up!

I was at Super Target the other day and asked the cashier if they take catalina coupons from other stores. I held it up for her and she said yes with a big smile and head shake. The next day I went to a regular Target and the cahier said oh this is for Walgreens. She was new I could tell and I told her Super Target just took one the other day. She called someone over that first said no then I explained Super Target took mine and unless their stores had different policies to just take the item off she said she would take it this time and yes it scanned and said item not there but she did override and walked away. So I am still unsure which store was correct.

I think this is going to be YMMV. I haven't heard anything new, but my store won't take catalinas from other stores. We kind of got in big trouble for taking a S&S one once, so that's been the policy since. If it is a new thing, I would imagine they'd test it out at a few stores first before changing the policy nationwide. Doesn't hurt to ask though!

k1 will override ANYTHING, it's just getting the cashier to use it

Update ~ I was in my store on Monday and the cashier I went to had not heard this yet. She asked the supervisor on duty and she hadn't heard it either (I guess they're not training EVERYBODY, hate that). She said she would take it just this once and find out if it was true or not. I requested a call back from the store manager on their policy, whether I can or can't since I don't have time to waste shopping for items I can't use my coupon.

He called me today and said YES they take any coupon that says manufacturers even from other stores, it is the policy they have and he wasn't sure about other stores in other areas. He told me he tried the coupon I used (Always free liners from Walgreens) and it said item not found and he had to K1 it. He said if the item comes up not found for these coupons, the cashier must check to make sure I bought the correct item, and then K1 it (he told me like I didn't know and I said oohh ) He was very nice and said he talked to all the managers and put a memo out for the cashiers on this policy. If I have any problems to tell them I talked with him and all managers know this.

It's prob very YMMV but like I said, never hurts to ask. If they're getting reimbursed, why does it matter? I agree, most people say no before they hear the question or don't understand.

I heard this when I started last year which was on another site (inferior site I might add) anyway they want you to think it is only good at Walgreens to get your business, but they send in those RR just like any other coupon. Cashiers get confused but it is true if it says Manufacturers Coupon. You just have to be firm but very polite when they see Walgreens logo. The only coupons that are only Walgreens are the "store coupons" but even then WM will "price match" Target only and Walgreens only Store Coupons. Confusing but true.

I use them at my grocery store. Since they are a mfg you would think that every store would accept them.

it would be nice if they trained all the employees, so you didn't have a problem, most times it isn't worth the hassle, so I don't even try, in theory it is a manufacuters, so they will get reimbursed, so they should take it. In theory!

YMMV...I use them at all stores here, but it is so HARD to get Target to even accept their own coupons...I would love to see it in there COUPON POLICY!!! We are doing a COUPON SIT in at our local Target this weekend!!!

I had the item not found issue yesterday with the Gilette Razors I bought but she just over rode it because they were clearly there and these were straight P&G coupons out of the Sunday paper.
