You may want to call 211 and ask that question--I bet they'd know right away whether it was worth your time to go through the application process.

I was just looking at a sign posted at the library about how much you can make and still qualify for WIC and I was surprised! It seems very lenient! They just made a lot of changes here back in October that are great but I'm not sure if it's the same everywhere or not, but now you can get bread, fruits, vegetables, spices, tortillas, brown rice, milk, eggs, cheese, apple juice, peanut butter, beans, formula and baby food, and I'm not sure if you still get the canned tuna if you're pregnant or not, but it's really been helping out a lot and helping us eat healthier too!

Looks like for a family of four is $3400/month.

if you go, they do the income verification first (at least here they do.) That way you don't have to have the exam if you don't qualify.
