I think the local post office would love to have you drop off donations. I always wonder if the mail carriers dread this day of extra work.

I think it would be a really great idea if we set a goal as "couponers and super couponers" to find one or two items that we have stockpiled to the max and donate the surplus.

Here is what I'm thinking: I have 20 tubes of Colgate. My family needs 12 for the next year. I have an 8 tube surplus. Those 8 tubes get donated on that Saturday.

Keep in mind: There will always be more free Toothpaste and more deals to be had. Just because they are asking for food doesn't mean they won't take other non perishables. Our local food pantries all over the USA need to be restocked with EVERYTHING!



Here is a list of things that have been free recently to the point that I have seen multiple deals available:

1. Disposable Razors
2. Toothpaste
3. Dental Floss and picks
4. Carefree Panty Liners
5. Feminine Pads
6. Shampoo
7. Deodorant
8. Mashed Potatoes (thank you Kroger!)
9. Cereal (not really free... but how about all that Frosted Mini Wheats from Target?)

I raided the pantry yesterday morning, since ODD likes to play "grocery store" and use the stuff from the pantry. I was able to get a couple of bags worth of extra cans, boxes, etc...that the girls and I won't eat over the next year.

I do this every year and as far as I can tell I am the only one in my area of the neighborhood who does it. Kind of sad since it is such a good cause.

I always look for this annual tradition. Our mailman is great and loves picking up all the goodies on this pantry-raiding day. We'll have a couple of bags out.

Guess it's a good way to pass on the free items from Wegmans. Better than saving them till the holiday food drives right? I don't have too much but I've got some jars of Mayo and a Can or two of Coffee to give.

At my office, we love to do this but we do dread it. LOL. Most of the time we get hit hard with mail and it's soo hot outside, you sweat to death.

I truely think if they would set it up different for us, it wouldn't be a problem. Like have someone go around to each mailbox and get the food.

That way we don't have to deal with the mail and packages, etc and try to figure out where in our vehicle we will put the food at.

Last year our office received like 2000-3000lbs of food. I'm working this Saturday, we try to get a picture with all of us carriers with the heaping load of food. I will try to post a picture to see what we actually do get.

Locally we leave nonperishables either in the mailbox or in a bag beside it! Have a good day!

Yep, my mailman left me the special bag for this purpose. I love participating in this every year. Since our mail carriers walk their route I know it makes it really hard on them. If I'm home when they come I walk back to their vehicle with them to help them carry my donation. We have the best mail carriers!
