Do any of you have a sense for where you can get the best deals among the office supply stores? Are deals better in person or online? Office Depot is convenient to me, but upon calling to ask about their coupon policy, I was told by the cashier that only one coupon can be used per transaction, ever. She even went as far as to tell me their cash registers were designed so no more than one could ever be entered. She didn't sound very coupon friendly at all. However, I know that this location of Office Depot will match competitor store prices. OfficeMax is also relatively convenient but their store layout is a bit hard to navigate. Staples is a lot further, but if it's a lot better, I would be willing to go there. I do a lot of office supply shopping and would really like to save more, especially on basics like paper and pens. It doesn't seem that these types of stores are discussed nearly as often as the grocery and drugstores. So, what's your favorite and why? |

I think Staples is the only office supply store around here. I like that you can often get a ream of paper for $1 after rebate. I do the ink recycling too - $3 in Staples money for each recycled ink cartridge. I think the other office supply stores do this too, though.

Office Depot is far from me > 30 miles, so almost never go there OfficeMax is closest, but go to Staples more...better deals, IMO - ink recycling, rebates, rewards ...BUT, I will work whichever one has the best whatever I need right now!

I don't live near any of them so it's almost all online for me. Closest one is about an hour and a half away. So when we do go into town we usually have several ink cartridges to recycle but we just head to the one who is having the best sale that week. I like office depot's rewards program best. They mail you a hard gift card, office max sends their gift card in the email and it's easy to miss the notification and completely forget about it. Staples rewards program only includes certain things (paper, ink, ect) while the other two have their rewards program based on the price of your entire purchase (all three occassionally have bonus items of course). I do have all three rewards cards and just shop the best deals. |

I use whichever one has the best deal for what I need. Office Max used to have the best ink cartridge recycling program, but now IMO it is the worst.

I prefere to use Staples. I always get great deals and you can use their coupons on electronics of different sorts. It's easy to pick up my coupons as well. I just get them from ezcouponshop at ezcouponshop.com Check them out and save some money like I did! ![]() ![]() |
