| Enter "Present" at check out at Restaurant.com to get 70% off each certificate. PLUS a free $15 certificate to RedEnvelope.com. You can redeem up to 3 certificates to Red Envelope for a total of $45. But you MUST purchase each restaurant.com certificate seperately. If you buy all 3 at once, you will still only get one Red Envelope code. You CAN use the 3 RedEnvelope codes at once, and can be applied towards shipping. Enter "BRSR5" for an additional 5% off there too. I bought my mom a gorgeous bracelet on sale from $49 to $39, got an extra $2 off with the code, applied my $45 in voucher codes, and with shipping ($9.99) paid only $6.xx! Plus I got (2) $10 gift cert and (1) $25 gift cert to restaurants as stocking stuffers for only $5.40!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Offer ends soon! I think the 8th.

This is a good deal. I picked up the 80% off deal a week or so ago. I got $85 in gift certificates for about $8. You have to print them off yourself. There are a few terms you have to meet, such as you have to purchase two entrees or a $25 GC is good off of a $40 dinner. So be cautious. Also, the terms are printed on the GC so there not exactly perfect gifts. Good luck!

| There should have been a code box towards the top of the checkout page, long before you were asked for payment.

This is great! I got two $25 GC's for $6. One for my mom and her husband and one for my husband as a stocking stuffer. Then from Red Envelope I got my husband really nice gardening gloves embroidered with his initials for $4.65! Another great stocking stuffer! This is so much fun! UPDATED: I just got an email from RedEnvelope saying my order was cancelled because I used (2) gift codes in one order. Here's part of the email: The terms and conditions of your gift code state that a gift code "cannot be combined with other offers or discounts." You have entered more than one gift code on this order, which is not consistent with our policy. Any money paid for this order will be refunded to you. Any gift codes applied to this order will still be valid for future use. Please visit redenvelope.com to place your next order using a maximum of one gift code per order. I am BUMMED! Most of their stuff is no where near $15 so you're pretty much sure you're going to have a bigger OOP. Oh well...

I called and talked to a wonderful CSR. She explained to me that on resturant.com there are no stipulations, but on redenvelope.com it states at the bottom of each page that you can only use one promo code per order (I looked and she's right). I told her that I understood and wanted to place an order for the gardening gloves still and use one promo code for the order. I also asked if they would wave the personalization fee (approx $3) and she said that she couldn't do that, but that she would give me 5% off my total order. After she added shipping my order came to $18.XX, she said "wow...the shipping was $10. I'm going to give you $5 more off of your order." YAY! She rocks! Then I went online and tried to place a 2nd order with another promo code that I had, but it told me that the gift code had no value. I called again and talked to another great girl. I explained everything to her and she put me on hold to ask her supervisor. She told me that it will take 24-48 hours for them to catch up on re-validating the codes from the cancelled orders. I'm just going to continue to check, because I found a few things that would still be super cheap! FYI the codes can be used for shipping! So try and find a $10-$15 item! GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE!!!

On Restaurant.com web page now (12/7 @ 7:30pm) the offer for $15 Redenvelope.com gift certificate isn't available anymore. They must've taken it off because I had an email dating from Saturday with that offer and also the same email w/out the Redenvelope.com offer was received at 3:19 today. That would've been cool to get that deal on Redenvelope...$45 off oh wow!!! |

My order was also cancelled. I called and indicated that their website states one promotional code per order (and the CS even gave free shipping codes or % off codes as an example of a promotional code), but this is clearly being treated as a gift certificate (the website will not even allow the code to be put in the promo code box...you have to put it the gift code box), and the order confirmation says it is a gift code. They can't point me to the portion of their site where it says one gift code per order. |

Is it just me, but was restaurants.com a much better deal 3-4 years back when they were more "brand new" and virtually no one had heard of them? I remember going on and getting these certificates every time we took a trip or I needed to take someone out for an occassion, like a birthday ... now it seems the good places are always out of stock (not surprising of course) or they add all sorts of rules to the certificates rendering them virtually useless unless you are taking a brood out for dinner on Tuesday night ... the second part is the part that kind of annoys me. I used to use these certificates all of the time, and now I find it rare to find one I could use (that is still in-stock). I suppose I am grateful for all the lovely dinners it brought my fellow travelers and me on various vacations, Salt Lick 360 on our 2006 trip to Austin ... That lovely Brazilian Charhouse in Miami I could have never afforded in the spring of 2007 (my last real vacation without a child in tow - I will always remember that meal as one of the last elegant experiences before the horrors of child rearing began) ... Sorry to vent ... just sad to see my once "undiscovered gem" is now just an ordinary cubic zirconia the majority of the time : ( Hope it still fares better in other cities ...

I got my UPS shipping notice today. So I don't know if it's because I chose to receive it really quickly that they didn't get to it to cancel it in time, or what.

I think bigPauly mentioned it but I wanted to reiterate there are terms to the GC - I don't know how good they'd be for just 2 people at some of these restaurants. I was looking at a restaurant where they meals are priced at about $12 and the GC said you had to spend 50 in FOOD only to use the GC. Taxes, Tip and drinks do not apply. So for 2 people they'd either have to eat ALOT. I was bummed cause I really thought they'd be great beneficial gifts for my sis and her boyfriend who are on a budget and they use coupons to the restaurant for buy one entree get one free thing and thought they could save more with these GC but it's really not a GC to me if it's a stipulation like that. But it is still great deal for use in a large group ABSOLUTELY. |
