| Am I reading this wrong?
Not a deal thread. Just thumbing through my ad and it made me go hmmm.... On the front page there is a deal buy one 16 pack of AA or AAA batteries for 9.99 get one free. So 9.99 = 32 batteries. However there's a coupon in the same circular for .99/per 6 pack of AA or AAA batteries. Wouldn't that be 9.90 = 60 batteries??? Thanks, Cyndi |

Sounds like your math is right! Go with the smaller packs and buy more!

They are different styles of battery. The 16 pack super cell are sort of like energizers & will last longer than the 6 pk heavy duty. The heavy duty states "not recommended for high drain devices". So it depends on where you plan to use the batteries. In a flashlight, either is fine; in a kids motorized toy truck - best to go with the more costly ones. Word of caution with Walgreens batteries - I've used them for quite a while and I'm happy with their performance for the price. BUT don't leave them in unused devices. I've had several leak out and corrode the battery compartment. Mostly this was with old toys that had been set aside. When I went to resurrect them months later, many batteries had leaked. I no longer use these generic batteries in my expensive electronics.

I've had that problem with cheap batteries too. If you want to buy products made by Americans, some Energizer products are made by Vermonters. I used to pass the well-kept plant on my way to St. Albans, VT. "...The St. Albans plant is the only domestic facility that produces Eveready® and Energizer® lighting devices as well as AA and AAA lithium batteries." |
