I tryed to do a price match deal for the first time at Target today - I was after the Froot Loops and Apple Jacks cereal deal..I had the Target q for 1.00 and a man. q for a 1.00 on each..I wanted to do a price match with the CVS ad -2.00 a box - which would have made these free..My clerk called the manager over cause she had never done a price match and the manager informed me that you can not do a price match and use a target coupon towards the priced matched item..Is this correct store policy? Has anyone else had this happen?

As far as I know you should be able to use coupons. It is easier to do the price match at the customer service desk, though.

She was going to send me over to customer service to do the deal over there but as the clerk was ringing the rest of my order - the manager noticed the cereal q's and said I couldn't use the q's, specifically the target q- and do a price match at the same time..

I would try going either later when the manager isn't working or to a different Target. Just go straight to customer service desk.

At my target today the customer service team trainers could not even figure it out. going 2 email corp.

Thats pretty bad when the trainers can't figure it out..My friend went to do this deal the other day at a different target - they let her do the price match and use the coupon but she said it took FOREVER and was really a big hassle..

I just came back from Target with 10 boxes of cereal for $0 OOP! (I bought my son a 1/2 off item from the one spot, so it came to 50 cents.)

I went to customer service. She rang them up ($3.29 for Froot Loops and $2.99 for Apple Jacks). I price matched to local IGA at $2. Total was $20. She took off 10 MQs ($10). Then the TQs. ($10). The only hangup was NONE of my 10 (or the other 10 I had in my file) would scan. But she just overrode them.

You can use the target coupons to stack with MQs on price match items. However, I do believe that all price match items eventually have to run through guest services so you are best off just heading there first to ring up your price match items, then heading to the check lanes for anything else you are purchasing that trip.

This would be especially true with the cereal scenario! If you go through the check lanes first with your target q, then head over to get your paid receipt adjusted for the price match then they won't be able to do anything for you as your paid receipt will show that you were already charged a lower price than the price match would have netted you. This may be where your manager's head was at when telling you that you couldn't use the TQ, but far be it from me to figure out what anyone else is thinking!

My Target didn't had the oz. sizes on the cereal to match with cvs ad so i even didn't gave it a try.running out of cearel hope there is another sale coming.
