I feel as though one of the greatest things AFC has going is the friendliness of the site For over five years, AFC has been my internet home and I look forward to logging on each morning and being welcomed by happy, friendly AFC'ers like me. But lately I have been troubled by a growing trend here, and that is the thoughtlessness of some that feel the need to post derogatory remarks about cashiers and store employees. There are numerous AFC'ers that work as cashiers and store managers...imagine how they must feel every time they read a post calling them stupid, ignorant, uninformed? The AFC team would like to remind everyone to please be mindful of your comments......our moderators will remove any offensive remarks towards othersThank you KellyMarie |

Well said. I also feel that people need not remark about an employee's ethnicity or if they have a heavy accent, etc. They are trying to do the best they can, and we should try our best to understand them. Just my two cents. Thanks.

And lets remember that not everyone uses coupons as we do and may not understand them like we do. Not all stores choose to educate their employees on the rules of coupons usage. If we are patient, pleasant and kind we will win and legitimate coupon use will become much easier. It all happens one cashier at a time, and it only takes one rude customer to turn a cashier off to us all.

I think this is great! I have noticed a trend of the term "Coupon Nazi" and find that to be offensive. While I am sure those who use it mean it to be harmless, the history behind the term Nazi should never be used lightly.

And if I may add, if the cashier catches terms on coupons like limit ONE per HH, don't get mad at them and call them names (stupid, ignorant, jealous B) just because you cannot use more of the coupon. We can't get our way all the time, for sure. we get mad when they don't know how coupon works, and we get mad also when they catch the terms like the $1 Robi 2 go good on 10 ct RR yet people keep posting they use it on the 2 ct just because it scans?! Yet, when we're caught, its ALWAYS they are the rude ones? It seems it has gone out of control in many instances. Let's be considerate of them and maybe our troubles will be less.

They work in retail which we all know doesn't pay much and when they have to deal with people calling them names or even when they visit here and see what people say about them it does not create an inviting environment. I will share a quick story. At one of my store another couponer made a cashier cry. Yes cry. She is an 18 year old cashier who is very nice and polite and always willing to help. She even welled up with tears when telling me about the situation. All this over a couple of items. She totally fears this one person now. The manager of the store is a member of the coupon site of the women and read the posts that said derogatory things about him. Now... this cashier knows me and knows I would never say a mean word but how do you think she feels when any other couponer comes into her store and a coupon beeps or she has to refuse a coupon. She probably has anxiety about getting screamed at again. Or how do you think the manager felt when he read about himself on the internet? I think it is important to remember that the cashiers and managers are people too. Thanks for pointing this out!! Last edited by sleepy832; 10-25-2009 at 03:29 PM. |

I like this thread! I have had loads of good trips to stores and a couple bad ones...but honestly 9 times out of 10 people complain over small things. I get fantastic deals and I am not going to complain when I mess up or a Q doesn't work right...when I am dragging home bags of stuff for almost no $. I am grateful for the things I recieve. Now that being said there are FEW occurances that warrant "bad trips" but those are usually just cashiers having a bad day (who knows who was there before you and what was said to them) or stores that are tired of dealing with couponers who are not polite and considerate. I think we all need to be more thankful for all the good deals...I know I am! Thanks for the reminder Kellymarie!

![]() its annoying to read gripes where people say (or are those brags disguised as gripes?) have done double digit transactions and cashier or MOD starts getting grumpy. Maybe we need to be in their shoes for us to understand how it is do deal with demanding couponers? What happened to posts previously doing the happy dance when they get good deals for little money? There's more gripes now inspite of getting tons of stuff. Nothing satisfies us anymore I also hope people read carefully before giving advice to call corporate. Most often than not, it is the couponer that needs counseling more than the store associate. M2C.

Just to add my 2 cents.....I've posted before and want to say again, my Wags, RA and Walmart cashiers have all been wonderful! I try to stay away from the "gripes & Groans" as well. THis site has been such a positive experience and I now have so many AFC extended family members....what a blessing! Thanks again KellyMarie for your post!
