We call it the Shick method...give you the razor and sell you the blades. Many products are marketed this way for example buy the computer get the printer free. You pay by buying the ink. Like Avasmom, not fooling me. I own a Laser printer that prints better, longer and cheaper.

Isn't there tax on the meters? I know I bought one once for $9.99; used a q to get it for free; but still paid .69 tx on it (our rate of 7% here).

No way I could do that in my area. We have 5 within 25 miles and even if I bought every one in all those stores they would not have enough. The each maybe have 5-6. I will probably try to buy one at each store. My mom is diabetic and can always use one. Then donate the rest.

how did u figure .14 per meter... i'm figuring like .90 cuz of tax, cuz u get taxed on items before q's don't u? maybe u have different rules... but i'm liking ur thinking and may be doing a smaller version of urs, and then just use the rr's for groceries, toiletries, etc instead of buying them at another store... thank you!!!!

I am so excited that the papers in the Twin Cities will be 50 cents now- I was getting about 4-6 papers each week at 1.75, I will probably get 10+ today! Yay! Walmart and the grocery store always have so many papers

And we don't get charged tax on the meters or paper- double Yay!!! I am doing a happy dance now! I could really end up ahead on this one!

Oh- And if you ask now, your store should be able to order these for you to get in before the sale. Make sure to get in there asap though, it takes about 2 weeks for product to arrive

Anyone can always order news papers from elsewhere. I am not sure how long it takes for delivery. It probably depends on which paper. Also, most cities have news stands that carry news papers from most major cities around the world. Personally, I like The Miami Herald. This paper puts out the best coupons in Florida as far as I know. Other papers often have smaller SS that are missing important money makers, like the Glade $3.

Thanks for the info. I did not realize that I could ask for spcific supplies. I like the reduced news paper costs. In S. FL, The Miami Hearald early edition put out on Saturday afternoons @ 4:00p.m. is 0.50 with the coupons. I have doubled my paper purchase this week also. That is also a good tip.

yes is a tax at IL stores YMMV last time they run this promo I was able to buy 100 meters making 1000 in RR's

Hard to believe that you can make that much money in rr's...may I ask what you spend your rr's on? I worry about mine expiring and always try to buy soda, milk, chips, etc. I haven't figured out how to go back to get the best deals on other stuff with my rr's.....HELP!

So, please, if you don't have need of these items and you get them for the RRs, donating them to diabetics (unemployed and uninsured) for it truly can be a LIFE SAVER!!! Thank you to all of you who do this already!!!

Wow, I knew the test strips were expensive, but sheesh!! That's insane! In the past, I've always just donated these to a local dr's office, but maybe this time I'll check around and see if there is a more direct way I can donate them specifically for uninsured diabetics.
