Today I went to 3 diff RA to get the Aveeno hair care products (I had only plan on 2 because I was breaking the deals up for a low oop), the first store was fine, only thing they did not have the correct Oral B for the rebate, that was ok. I went to the second one, the manager rung me up and when he got to the q, I had (2) $1 manf q for the Aveeno and (2) $2 RA video q, he tells me he can't accept both q because he just received and email yesterday (how convenient) thay says they cannot accept any combination of q that will take an item down below $5 ..wth... I took out the coupon policy which was received in another thread and tried to show it to him, he never read it. I told him to just void out the transaction, he was very nice about it. I went to the 3rd store and picked up the same items (2) Aveeno hair, (2) Tylenol - BOGO and the Oral B tb, the cashier rolling over my q with a fine tooth comb. I thought she was going to say something about the Aveeno q but instead she hands me back one of my $2 tylenol q and says you can't use both of these on a BOGO, she didn't scan it. I told her per the RA q policy I can. I did not have the policy with me in hand but I told her I will get it from my car, when I got back the manager was there, I went to hand it to her and she says "I don't want to see it, the manager will finish you" I gave it to him, showing him the area about the bogo items and he says as long as the q scans there should not be a problem. I told him she did not even scan it, she just told me I could not use it. He confirmed and said if it scans you can use it. Now please tell me, if the manager at the second store got this email about nothing going under $5 then why did this manager not say anything about it. I am getting so tired of these made up rules. |

I spoke with my store's manager today and she told me that they just changed to coupon policy to allow Ips, but only one IP per transaction. She told me the new policy was posted by the register. When I get to the register I see the policy and it says, "one IP per item" so I go back and tell her that. She says they must have just changed it without telling her. She also insisted that if an IP doesn't scan, then the store will not accept it. She said that they are not permitted to key in the codes on IPs the way they do with magazine and insert Qs. At least my store is accepting IPs now, but I wish there was a clear policy I could print from RA's own website, with their web address printing on the bottom of the page (not a PDF) that I could carry with me. It's funny how so many people call and email RA about their Q policy, yet they never clarify the Q policy on their website, and make it available for their customers to download & print. It seems to me that they don't really care about fixing this problem. If they did, they would have posted their Q policy online a long time ago. Other stores have (e.g. Walmart). |

IMO RA Corp. doesn't want us to save on products from the store. The Managers doesn't want to take care of ppl wanting to use coupons in the store and they want to get those merit raises and pats on the back from Corp. b/c they use every excuse in the book not to take them and without a clear policy they think that Corp. will look highly to them as examples that it can be done. Oh and what about SCR....even tho you have submitted your receipts on the web and items does not scan for rebate and ppl call..email...but then you will need to fax or mail in the receipt most of the time. If you mail it in sometimes all rebates are not counted. *SO NO... I DON'T THINK THE STORES OR CORP WANTS THERE TO BE A TRUE By the BOOK POLICY* They WOULD HAVE TO FOLLOW THAT Now WOULDN'T THEY!!!!! |

I completely agree with you guys. I get so frustrated with Rite Aid. I think they do make up the rules as they go. I had the manager at the RA clostest to my house say to the cashier waiting on me that the $5/$25 has to go after all coupons. Well I went back about 2 months later and the manager (same manager) tookmy $5/$25 Q before the other coupons. He was grouchy and I dont care to go back there, but I dont get it. Then at another RA, this guy was real nice but said he could only accept one IP. I think each store makes up thier own rules as trhey go. I did complain about the manager to another worker there (I called form home) and the lady was real noice until I complained baout her boss. Then she turned super snotty. I also emailed Corp. befoire that told the how unhappy I am with that store and they never even bothered ealing me back. The deals are good, but dang are the workers jerks! I found this one RA and they are wonderful. I drive the extra 10 minutes to deal with nice cashiers that rarely give me a problem with IPs. Anyway just venting....

I appreciated your hard work and communication to us couponers about RA policy up date. I will tell you that I have done just that called the Corp. office at the 1-800# and been disappointed b/c the answer I would get was it was up to the mgr (not the employees) but the mgr decision at their description. The Mgr tells the employees to refer to the disclaimer on the back of the ad to the customers ever time there is an issue. When you don't have many RA around to go to when you go back into that RA the store employees gives you an unkindness feeling b/c you have called to get correct info from Corp. So it's the Mgr that need to get educated on the rules of policy and then explain the correct policy to the employees. Until this happens storewide we continue to have problems as a RA shopper. You say the DO cares and with the economy the way it is right now there is no doubt they do. But I have never had a DO Mgr call me only the store Mgr. So it is the store Manager interpretation of the policy that the employees follows that is how my RA does business. I personally was thrilled when you posted the "coupon issues being over" this was my goal as well. I wanted a clear policy to follow not this day I will but not again. |
