e-VIC Alert - Save $5 this weekend at Harris Teeter!

As a loyal customer and e-VIC member, we will automatically deduct $5 from one transaction of $50 or more between Friday, September 25th, 2009 and Sunday, September 27th, 2009!

YMMV, but this has been the total before coupons and after store (VIC) savings for me in the past.

Yep-- I got the same thing this morning... I was just sitting here trying to come up with some deals for it... Have you got any good scenarios for this?

My HT almost always sticks to the rules:

"$50 purchase excludes money orders, gift cards, postage stamps, lottery/event tickets, coupons or any discounts. This offer is valid for e-VIC customers only as of September 22, 2009. One redemption per household."

Oh my... I can't spend just $50 AFTER qs... That would be like a 2 week budget.... Aren't we terrible about being so cheap

I went to HT this morning. The $5 came off automatically when my total reached $50 (after discounts). Then they took off Q's. It did not remove my discount. It seemed to be 'system driven' rather than. I agree with Moggy; a second look at the fine print excluded Q's.

I'm typing up my purchases, but my oop wasn't wonderful due to some 'extras' that I added.

Yep, I'm really bad. I even have a hard time buying things that we need if I don't have a q. It causes me true physical paid!

Oh me too Moggy... I tell my hubby... if we don't have a Q, then we don't get it.... Of course I had to give in since I have 2 kids & 1 being a baby that drinks milk like there is no tomorrow...

Several posts have been made about the $5 coming off automatically before the coupons have been scanned? I just want to verify before I make my shopping list. If that is the case, this is an awesome deal! I got the e-mail too and was not happy about the fine print. Thanks!

That is at least what I experienced. They scanned my VIC card, scanned my items, reached $50+ (after VIC discounts) & the $5-off appeared. On my receipt, it lists all the groceries, all the Man. Q's (so my total was less than $50 after Q's), the $5 off & then the store/double savings.

Can anyone list the free after coupon items?? I think there are a few that are almost always free every week but i cant remember them all. Thanks!

It seemed to me that once the VIC card took off all of my discounts.. that the cashier had to key something in and the $5 came off. It did not come off automatically with the rest of the vic savings. I will just say, I KNOW he keyed something in, but I am not sure what. This is not typical, so I dont know. After VIC savings my total was near $52, then I had just a few coupons and used 2 OYNO cats, total was $30ish.
