Attention "cut" IP's no longer accepted as of today

I just went to rite aid tonight...had IP's for $1/1 Johnson Body Products. When I handed it to the cashier, he said he was sorry but he couldn't take them. I asked why not...he said they are now required to have the entire page when accepting internet printed coupons I asked him why and explained to him that I always clip my coupons like this and have never had an issue. He said he was just given a new policy today and he showed me the handout they had at the register. I checked with the manager (who is my brother in law) and he said that the notice came directly from the corporate loss prevention office. According to the info the managers were given the stores are losing tons of money because of the huge amount of fraudulent internet coupons. When I asked what could possibly be the logic of keeping the whole page since all the coupon info was still in tact on my clipped coupon, he said he didn't know but that was the policy. So now I can't use any of my johnsons q's (and of course I can't reprint them ) and I can't use my $5/$25 RA q either! So you might want to double check with your local RA to see if they are following this new policy as well.

I don't shop at Rite Aid, but that is crazy. What about coupons that get printed 3 to a page? And seriously, it doesn't stop anyone from copying them and just handing over a full sheet of a copy! Actually, now I think it's quite funny that they think this will solve the problem b/c it's just as easy to cheat.

I do see how stores are losing money on IP's b/c we keep hearing stories of people copying ones like the Huggies wipes q last year. I'll bet it's a lot more common than you think. THey have to come up with a better way for stores to verify them.

I was at RA this evening and used my clipped IPs for J&J, the cashier read each one carefully staring at each one for a long time but she did take them including the $5 off $25 coupon.

I've had a problem with Rite Aid and "Internet q's" all summer. They're very apologetic saying it's a corporate policy due to fraudulent q's as well. They absolutely will not accept the RA $5 off $25 q from Coupon.com because it's not from their web site. So I believe a few bad apples have spoiled it for the rest of us honest couponer's at Rite Aid.

Yesterday I called corp. They told me the policy is that they can accept 1 IP up to $5 for each item and a Rite Aid store q for any amount. I asked them to e-mail my Rite Aid so I wouldn't have any more problems. 15 minutes later I got a call from the manager at my local Rite Aid apologizing to me for not accepting all my coupons. He said he was miss informed because they change the policy so much. He said he hopes I will stay a customer. I was pleasantly surprised.

I was really worried about not being about to use my six cut ip coupons when I went to Rite Aid this morning. But, they went through just fine.

I just called the 1-800 # for Rite Aid customer service. The lady that I talked to said that it's okay to use IP coupons that are cut.

i called customer service this morning and they said they would have the DM call me back. He did call this afternoon and I explained to him what happened. He said that yes there was new policy issued to the stores but that the cashier may have been taking it to literally. In talking to him he said they have an enormous amount of bogus q's going through their system including ones for free boxes of $20 pampers and other big ticket items. So as always the bad apples spoil the bunch. He said he would call the store and tell them to allow me to use the clipped q's I have but asked that in the future I keep them in tact. He wasn't sure why keeping the entire sheet made a difference either, it was just what was requested by loss prevention.

Ugh! I just came home from my Rite Aid trip to take advantage of the J&J SCR deal and ran into a snag at check out. The cashier was friendly up to the point when I handed her my IP coupons, 1 of them being the $5/$25 - she immediately looked at them and said she didn't think they could take them because they weren't printed in color (what?) and proceeded to ask the other cashier who agreed with her. So my cashier went ahead and checked with the manager on duty who instructed her that my coupons were acceptable, cashier went ahead and rung me up and what a surprise - no problems with any of my coupons, I think she was anticipating there would be a problem, none of them beeped and everything went through just fine, thank goodness. But after all that hassle, I know I will not ever visit that location again. Although my transaction eventually went through, it was still aggravating to have to go through that. Luckily, it was not a busy time and there were not any other customers waiting behind me. This is really the first time in a long time I have visited Rite Aid, this deal was just too good to pass up to not take advantage of it. I was so aggravated I completed the "tell us about our service" survey as well as left a message on the website. I totally feel everyone's frustration!

The rite aids here stopped taking IPS a few years ago. I only shop there when they have FAR or I have a great coupon for something they have on sale.

I've been waiting for the district manager to call me about a complaint for a month and a half. I finally e-mailed him last week. He was going to call me 2 days ago, then yesterday, still no call. I haven't shopped in that store since and I have (2) $25 gift cards.

It's frustrating that using coupons there can be so difficult.
I hope you get it figured out.

Yes, you can. I did it a gazillion times with the BOGO Stayfree a month or so ago.

However you may run into a stray cashier who gives you a hard time. It is R-A's policy to allow this, meaning both items will be free.

(I have not tried it with a BOGO I've printed off the Internet, however.)

what about if the coupon is more than the product? Cashier/manager on duty said they had a meeting on coupons today with the district manager and no longer are they allowed to adjust prices/coupons. Is this true? I just had them take it off my order. BTW, it was 2 cents.

I used one last night with no problems. My Rite Aid is awesome though and they actually tell me what a great thing coupons of any kind are!

Exclamation Boo...

It seems like soooo many stores are giving up on accepting IP's because of fraud.
It really sucks

I actually always give them the full sheet so they can see what website the coupons are from, then they cut it out and give me the extra coupons on the page. Yes, this doesn't prevent people from making dups but it does prevent people from making their own coupons. My RA store manager told me that people were making false dog food coupons and the corp. had lost hundreds of thousands of dollars (I think it was $300,000). That is crazy and it stinks that people that always follow the coupon rules have to suffer but I guess that's just life ;-)

Who was the dummy cashier that accepted a coupon for $20 off a box of pampers??? Seriously now...
