My guess is that CVS bases the CRTs on past purchase history/upcoming sales/manufacturer's promotion/and if you need a coupon incentive to purchase items. That guess and $4 will buy a cup of coffee.

For me, the only way I'm going to get them is to trade in my old card for a newer, better CRT attracting one; use an alias on the new card so they can't match my name/address to my old account; change my spending habits so that I actually (gasp) spend some of my own money at the store once in a while (I'm already feeling that this is a doomed scenario... ) and perhaps buy stuff without coupons once in a while. Okay, this isn't going to happen at all.

For me, I tend to get CRT's that match upcoming sales and tend to be the same ones that several people get. Some things match up with what I have purchased in the past but one I got today was for arthritis pain...hmmm I'm only 33 so this is one that won't get used!
