| Returns when coupons/RR used in transaction?
I mistakenly bought the wrong size Crest toothpaste that produces the $5 RR when you purchase 2, did not realize till the following day (newbie), went back to the store to return so I can purchase the correct size to receive the $5 RR but was told by the manager a return could not be done because I had used coupons and an RR in the transaction, the manager did not like what I was trying to do and explained if she agreed to process the return so I can take advantage of the RR promo that it would be like giving me money back. All she could offer was an even exchange. Is this normal policy? I am quite new to how Walgreens works so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I would chalk it up to being a newbie. You should have realized immediately after your transaction that you did not receive your RR and maybe they could have done something about it. Do not leave the store until you are sure you have everything. Everyone can use toothpaste.

When she does the exchange for the right items, the RR should print, and hopefully she'll give it to you.

True, I definitely learned my lesson the hard way with this one, now I always check to make sure before leaving the premises. Had no prob with a previous return where a coupon was used so I guess it must have been the RR. Oh well, like you said, everyone can use toothpaste! These will last us awhile since they're the huge tubes! Lol. Thanks for the insight. Learning everyday reading the AFC forums.

I would have argued the point that you were going to repurchase the items right then and there. They were still getting reimbursed for the coupons and rr you used to pay with...at least that makes sense to me. I've also had a cashier tell a friend...."its just better to come without a receipt" ![]() Amanda |
