Rumors were that the Reinventing Beauty magazine wasn't going to be carried by CVS anymore. My fav manager hadn't heard anything about it but she did notice that all she had on her shelf was the issue that "expired" the end of Aug. so that made her wonder about things, too. Haven't a clue.

Would you look at the coupons and tell me what the barcodes begin with? If they start with a 4, they are CVS coupons. If they start with a 5 or a 9, they are manufacturer's coupons (and should also contain consumer/retailer redemption information).

The barcodes begin with "5", but there is NO information for the retailer as to where to send the coupon for redemption. Reading again, the back also states "cannot be combined with any OTHER CVS/Pharmacy coupon"...HTH

Sure looks like CVS wants the best of both worlds -- they want to call it a manufacturer's coupon but with the wording on the back it they basically consider it a CVS coupon by limiting use with "OTHER CVS/pharmacy coupons." Without any retailer info where to send the coupons and with the wording on the back, they are going to have a hard time denying those are CVS coupons.


It looks like it's going to be YMMV whether or not the coupons can be used with a manufacturer's coupon.

Who has been able to get this one? The pharmacy people at my store yesterday had no clue. I showed them the ad on p.14 (the blurb that madmurphy had mentioned).

The blurb isn't even in my ad (no Minute Clinics within 100 miles) so I'm wondering if it is MC related.


I did notice in the 9/20 ad there is another $100 coupon book coming out. All you have to do is ask your pharmacist for a prescription review. That one is probably going to require having prescriptions at CVS.

I rechecked the 9/20 ad. I can't read the small print -- will have to wait for didie's ad scan but the large print says, "Get a $100 coupon book. Just ask your pharmacist for a prescriptions savings review."

So, it might not require prescriptions already at CVS -- but will require prescriptions somewhere. CVS is basically wanting to get your prescription business and they want to see if they can offer you better prices than elsewhere.

At the bottom of the 9/20 ad it says "Get a Flu Shot. Get A $100 Coupon Book!". Then in small pring it says "Available every day. No appointment necessary. No purchase necessary. While supplies last".

You have a different version of the ad than the other one that was posted.

Look at the 4th page of the other ad scan and it has the blurb about "Prescription Review"

I'm hoping that my ad will have the prescription review blurb since we don't have Minute Clinics. My 9/6 ad had no mention of the flu shot/coupon booklet either.
