Did the following transaction today:

SCR#68, get $10 GC wyb $30 in participating P&G products. Cover Girl cosmetics are BOGO 50% off this week.

2 Cover Girl mineral blushes $12.99 ea = $25.98
1 Cover Girl foundation $5.79
1 Cover Girl foundation $9.39
Subtotal $41.16

- $5/25 RA Q
- 2 x Buy 1 foundation, Get 1 Face product FREE (8/30 PG) = -25.98
- 1 CG any, $2.50/2
- $7.59 (BOGO 50% discount from foundations)

Should’ve been $.09 OOP + tax, but the manager was changing prices as I was looking at the products. I got the $12.99 mineral blushes as my FREE “face” products and the only products that had “foundation” written on them were a couple compact types–some compacts said “pressed powder” or the liquid type said “makeup”. I stayed away from these because I didn’t want to have any issue with using the BOGO coupon. The cheapest foundation had a shelf price of $5.79 (rang up at $7.59, but manager approved adjusting it down) and the other foundation I got was $9.39 (rang up $9.99–again manger adjusted down).
A word of caution: these adjustments threw off the BOGO 50% calculations and only one of the $12.99 blushes was discounted instead of the foundation being discounted. I spent $1.18 + tax OOP, instead of my calculated .09 + tax OOP–still not too bad since I’m getting $10 back

The $2.50/2 Qs expire tomorrow, but there are $1/1 Qs out today. The BOGO Qs are regional as well. Hope you can get in on this great deal!!!

ETA: I would have expected the registers to take off 50% of the lower priced items, but this is not the case! Just found out you need to get the $7.59 (or higher priced) foundations and the $12.99 (or higher priced face product) for this to work, because the register will ring up prices as follows:

$7.59 for foundation 1
$3.79 for foundation 2 (50% off of $7.59)
$12.99 for mineral blush 1
$6.49 for mineral blush 2
Subtotal = $30.86

If you get cheaper items, you will fall short of the $30 goal!

IDEAL SCENARIOS:

ALL-IN-ONE TRANSACTION (just the cover girl)

2 Mineral Blushes ($12.99 shelf price)
2 Foundations ($7.59 shelf price)

That is the way mine rang up too. But then the cashier entered 12.99 on each BOGO coupon so I ended up with a negative balance, and when tax was added, I only paid .46!

I have a question about the $2.50/2 q. I have one if I wanted to use it tomorrow on the 8/31/09 / Expire 8/31/09 Do you think I can still use it. (My RA doesn't take Exprired qs so my question is on q's does that mean I have lost this deal?) TIA

nope! You didnt miss out! You can use the coupon up until the day it expires. They won't take it after 8/31 unless your store accepts expired coupons. HTH

Thanks for the post. I tried to go and do this deal, but got stuck behind a very agitated customer and I think the girl was still flustered when I got up to the counter. She said I can only use one BOGO coupon, and kept trying to take off for the second foundation instead of the blushes. She finally said I could accept the 21.04 OOP but she couldn't take anymore off. At that amount, I don't think the register was even taking the 50% off, as that OOP was AFTER even the 5$ off and one BOGO and the 2.50. Didn't make sense to me and I wasn't going to start an argument. I'll just try again tomorrow and see what happens.

2X RA's would not let me do 2X coupons in same trans. Said the coupon said 1 per cust., which it did, but...so could not use the 5/25 nor did either RA let me use the 2.50 or either 1.00 off coupon. Basically paid 1/2 off the foundations, which were priced at 6.59 so those were 3.38 ea and got the mineral blushes for free. Two more coupons and 2 other RA's I can try b4 the white flag goes up.

I did this deal today but I think the cashier messed up, it made it a better deal to me but I feel guilty....

2 X CG foundation $8.49, $4.24
2 X Mineral Blush $12.99, $6.49

Used: $5/20 Q, 2 BOGO Free CG product $25.98, 1 $2.50/2 CG Q.

(I think the second bogo q the cashier was suppose to only take off $6.49 but she did $12.99 for both q's each)

And even though my $2.50/2 Q was expired they still let me use it

So my total after tax was $1.63
