hi everyone! I'm new here -and also new to the deals at cvs. i just received my extra care card in the mail the other day and heard about the extra buck deals so i got :

one kotex
one bic 3
one colgate
and one oral-b

so i went back and it shot out five different 'extra bucks' - the cashier said that i can only use one at a time - is this true? i dont really want to go back fouror five times to buy each item with a coupon. also, with these deals that are all month long - can you only buy one at a time to get the bucks?

Welcome, Krystal!!! I'm no pro, but using more than one ECB is more of a YMMV kinda deal (your mileage may vary). My CVS closest to home will only let me use one per visit, but when I drive another mile and a half, I can use as many as I want.
If it's a month-long-deal, unless duly-noted (sp?), you can buy as many as you want, and you'll get that amount of ECB's per item. HTH!

I agree with Shopa...I have never had a problem with useing more than one ECB. It all depends on your store.

Yes, you can use more than one Extra Care Buck in the same transaction, the system will not allow more than one CVS coupon and one Manufacturing coupon on each item.

Question do you accept internet printed coupons?

I would like to inform you that our corporate policy is that we do except manufacturers coupons. If the occasion arises that the coupon has a higher value than the item then the cashier should be instructed to adjust the coupon amount to match the price of the item. Also, we do accept coupons on sale/clearance items, as well as numerous duplicate items as long as there is a valid coupon for each duplicate item. In addition, we do accept valid Internet coupons.


This was apparently a generic answer about coupons since I only asked about internet coupons. I have these emails printed out in case I run into any problems at a store, although since I've printed them I haven't had to use them.

If a store gives you grief you can call customer service while you are in the store.
The problem is you may have to call every time. I like to be prepared so my suggestion is email them with any questions you have about coupon use and ECBs, print out the reply and carry it with your coupons.

Cashiers, some are smart and some don't like to have independent thoughts, often point to the statement at the bottom of the coupon, which says "limit one per customer" ... it's a crock of hookey-balookey ... they just don't want to be helpful.

Look at it this way ~ in transaction #1 you EARNED 5 different ECB. If you can EARN 5 in one transcation then you can USE more than one in a transaction.

Please note ~ EARNED, you EARNED them they are yours to spend! They aren't doing you a FAVOR by allowing you to use them ~ you EARNED them.

They only time I have a problem is when my item/coupon counts are off. If you have 10 items the register will allow 10 discounts ($X/$XX, mfr coupons, CVS coupons, ECB, or EC rcpt coupons). The register will refuse deduction #11 if only 10 items were rung. In this case a $.33 candy bar is a multi-purpose fix!

thank you all so much for your help - i have today off so i'm planning on going to cvs to try to use more than one extra buck at a time with a coupon - i just hope the cashier doesn't give me a problem - i think i will e-mail cvs just so that i have that answer on paper in case of a problem

So I had to do 3 transactions, thats after talking to the manager.

Heavenly, it's a pain, isn't it? But you could go to the CVS across the street from that one (or often even the same store an hour later), different cashier and different manager, and they would do it as 1 transaction.

The register will allow you to use as many ECB's as you want (as long as total coupon count doesn't exceed total item count) ... it's just a matter of getting a cashier or manager who will accept it.

THAT, my friend, is the very definition of YMMV!!

Soooooo glad mine aren't like that around here...used a bunch of ECBs in one transaction today, accidently went under .24, didn't see any cheap candy bars nearby, so just grabbed a .65 one. Yay! And I think I get back $35? Can't even remember what I got that had ECBs anymore...DS#2 made me get a Dora toothbrush for him and a Power Rangers one for DS#1, so nothing back on the expensive toothbrushes, but I just can't bring myself to tell them that new toothbrushes aren't a "treat"!
