I went into my Kmart today to transfer a prescription, and the pharmacist said that the coupon that I had from the circular-- you have to get it signed like 4 times to get the $100 card? I dunno; I didn't read the fine print, and didn't care because they have coupons at the pharmacy for a $25 gift card when you transfer a prescription, and they do not expire until 12.31.09. Sweet! The coupons come in a set of four. It's the one time I wish I had to take more medication! BTW, I have found that KMart is far cheaper than CVS, Wags, or RiteAid for prescriptions... especially CVS. For one of my prescriptions, KMart was $10 cheaper than CVS and RiteAid ($6 instead of $16), and on par with whatever I paid at Target last month. For my second prescription, KMart is also way cheaper. It was like $34 at CVS, and last month I took it to KMart and it cost $16. Last edited by BoilerGIrl; 07-13-2009 at 08:57 PM. My form from the ad states that you must have a minimum of 2 transferred prescriptions to be eligible and that the retail price of the prescriptions must be more than the amount of the GCs.

Thanks so much for the info! I went to the link, but could not find the coupon you mentioned; nor anything about it. I'm sure I'm missing it, but could you please tell me where it is? I looked at the home pagr; also looked under 'coupons'; the 'pharmacy'; and lastly, 'perscription savings'; but couldn't find it anywhere. I'm sure I'm just missing it. (What a dummy!) ![]() Thanks in advance for your help! |

The "coupon" (or, what they are calling a "certificate") says "Limit four certificates per customer." So I am assumming that means you can get up to $400.? (since each "certificate" is for 4 scripts, up to $100. per/each certificate) That is a good offer; based on the amount; & also that you have up until Dec. to fill those; so you have a few months. I know Target didn't have any limit on the # of transfers in their promo, but they were only $10. each. Wegmans had a limit of 10 scripts, & they were $20. each; for a total of $200. And Rite Aid was $25./script, but they only limited 2. So this is a good offer; the best I've seen so far. |

There is another thread for the Kmart perscription promotion that is going on right now. Someone there had mentioned that the amount you are supposed to get for each GC is UP TO $25.00; & the way it is calculated or figured out, is they are supposed to give you your co-pay plus the retail amount of the perscription, up to $25.00. I went there today, & I am glad I read that post before I went. I posted my experience from today on that thread, & am posting it on this thread, too, since this is about the promotion, too; if it will help someone. This was my post on the other thread & my experience today: "Thank heavens for AFC & thank heavens for you, clippinprincess! I went to Kmart today to transfer the perscriptions. I first asked if they were also including new ones, & she said no; that it was only for transferred ones. Apparently, there was a q that was originally for both; it was taped to the counter; but "new" was crossed out, & they wrote that it was only for transferred. She wasn't going to budge on that, & I didn't want to lose out on the $75.00 for the other 3, so I didn't push the issue. I did tell her I would take that one elsewhere so I could get a GC, & she said that was fine (and she saw this script was close to $300., but apparently she didn't care if she lost that one). Anyway, when I was going over everything with her, she said that all I would get back would be whatever the co-pay was; in our case, $10. & $20. I told her that it was supposed to be the co-pay PLUS the retail, & not to exceed the $25.; and she said that no, it was only the co-pay. I showed her where it said the co-pay/retail value of the perscription, and she said the retail was what we paid; the $10. or $20. And I said, no, that the $10. or $20. were the CO-PAYS; the RETAIL was what the perscription cost. I told her that was what I knew someone else had gotten, & she asked if it was from that store, & I said no; but it was from the same promotion. She said the instructions came from corporate. I asked her if I could have the phone # for corporate. She said there were a couple of phone #'s for them & she didn't know which one to give me. She took out a printed sheet of paper, like letter size, & said it was from corporate; & she read it to me; and it said it was a combination of the co-pay AND the retail (or "plus" the retail? I forget which right now). So I said to her that it said the same thing I was saying, and she said, okay, I guess it does. She said she was going to call one of the other stores, and corporate, & I asked her to please call them. I wanted to know what she was going to do before she put them through. She said she would go by the memo/letter from corporate; and thus, give me the co-pay plus the retail; so I would get the $25. for each one. While I was waiting, I saw they had coupons for this in the store (I brought in the printed out form from the internet); so I looked at the q, & read that it said value of gift carde not to exceed the full retail value of the perscription; & so I pointed it out to her. I also showed her what it said on the back, about the retail/insurance reimbursed value of the perscription must exceed the value of the gift card offer to qualify for the full value of the offer. When the perscriptions were ready, she gave me the GC's & I paid for the perscriptions; and she apologized & said she didn't want me to think she was stupid; but the promotion had only started last week & this the first one she had done; I was the first to come in with it. While I was waiting, I also asked her that on the printed out form I brought it from the internet, that said it was a certificate, there were lines for 4 scripts, & it said there was only 4 certificates per preson. I asked her if that meant 4 of these papers, which was for 4 each, which meant for a total of 16 perscriptions; and she said no, it was only a total of 4 GC's per person. Each coupon was one certificate, & a total of 4, or $100. per person. We actually had a nice "visit", as this pharmacist that I was dealing with the whole time, happens to live next door to one of my DH's doctors, and she was making me crack up telling me some things. ANYWAY! The whole point of my post, is first & foremost, to thank you, clippinprincess, because had it not been for your post, I would have thought she was right, & only gotten back my $10 & $20 copays for each RX! The other important point of my post is to make sure this doesn't happen to others. If the pharmacist says you only get back your co-pay, that IS NOT CORRECT! You get back the cop-pay PLUS the retail of the script, not to exceed $25.00. THANK YOU AGAIN!! " |

Hi. I am new to this whole "coupon community". I work at Kmart and was curious about these gift cards. Fortunately, I worked in the pharmacy one day this week and asked the pharmacist the deal on these. You cannot get a gift card for more than the amount of the prescription. For example, if you have a $100 medication and your insurance co-pay is $10... you will receive a gift card for $10 only. If you have NO co-pay... you receive NO gift card. My question is.... why would anyone even want a gift card equal to the amount you have to pay for the prescription? Makes no sense to me.

OH... I just saw the other post above me. I am going to take the in store coupons back to the pharmacist tomorrow and point the retail/insurance reimbursement thing out to him.

As I stated above, it is not just that you get the amount of the co-pay; and this was confirmed by the Memo the Pharmacist had from Corporate; as well as confirmed for me when I called Corporate when I got home. I did want to respond to your question in your previous post, asking, "why would anyone even want a gift card equal to the amount you have to pay for the prescription? Makes no sense to me. " The reason is because normally, you don't get anything for filling a perscription. You either pay your co-pay or if you don't have RX insurance, you pay the retail price; or some discounted price some drug stores offer if you don't have insurance. But you don't get anything additional. So, let's say you fill a perscription and pay a $10 co-pay; that's it; period; you don't get anything additional. With the offer of the gift card, let's say you're still paying that $10. co-pay, but the perscription is $100, you're getting the $25. gift card. Even if your co-pay is $20. and the perscription is, say, $100., you get the $25. gift card; and it is still more than if you got the perscription filled & didn't get anything back or additional. Hope that makes sense & helps; it's been a long day & I can't see straight to type! Last edited by leapinglizards; 07-24-2009 at 07:10 PM. Reason: typo |

I tried to use this same coupon that actually came in the Sunday Kmart sales paper a few weeks ago. I was told that I have to transfer a total of 4 RX (cannot be 1 or 2 it has to be 4) and I will get up to 100.00 gift card she said that if I pay a 10.00 copay for each rx the value of the gift card will be 40.00 - I could not get more money in gift card than what I paid out. I pointed it said up to 100.00 and up to 4RX not just 4. In fine print it also +states any 2 new RX or 2 Transfer RX she said that it was a misprint and thats not how it works. I told her that this is very misleading and wrong - a misprint should be at Kmarts expense. She did say that she agreed it was very misleading I took my RX's somewhere else, I had total of 3. I dont know if this is bad to post this but I went to my favorite RX filling place Winn Dixie they took the competitors q no questions asked except I did not get one for my free rx which is understandable. I love filling their they also will price match too!
