But don't you just love buying cheap school supplies???? I love being able to give kids a colored binder for a project, or a glue stick when their's runs out, or a pen I don't worry about getting back.

I work with preschoolers. I have crayons and glue coming out of my ears from last years deals. We can't even use this stuff as quick as I buy it!!

I hear you about the school supplies...my DH teaches high school kids and I home school our 4....I bought TONS of school supplies a couple years ago when Wm had a huge sale..
STILL using it all! I have Crayola Crayons that I will be able to use for my GRANDCHILDREN
(which better be years from now btw )

and I am so NOT ready for school to start again!

I am a high school teacher librarian, but our school doesn't even buy lined paper any more. No more markers, glue sticks, poster board. I know it's not my job to supply it, but I know some kids have $ issues.
I also stock up on cheap granola bars and keep them for kids. I feel bad for them, even though my school gives ALL kids free breakfast!

That is so nice of you to buy those things! We are expected to either ask parents for it or provide the items for the kids. Luckily I get everything for cheap. This year I didn't have to ask the parents to provide any snacks and we had snack every day during the year!! All my cheap deals help me to save others money in little ways too!

not to hijack this thread but honestly there are TONS of school aged children who go without...clothes, books, food..and supplies
if anyone can get items free/cheap like this ad for WAGS and won't because they don't need them personally please consider getting the supplies and donating them to your local school

ohhhh, I'm excited about the school supplies. Due to major budget cuts to our school district this is the first year that the school is asking parents to provide the supplies themselves. They sent a note home at the end of the last school year so we can "bargain" shop over the summer. I plan to make up 5-6 of each grades list and then take them to the school. With sales and q's I think I can do this for around $50. I got tons of band aids (which are on each grades list) last week when WAGS had them 2/$3 and I had $1 q's. I also know that the pink erasers are on each grade list so I'll be buying up tons of those, plus pencils, folders, glue and pencil boxes. I know that a lot of kids at that school are not going to get all the things they need. Or the parents just don't care enough to buy them for them cause they need to spend their money on beer and cigs. I'm fortunate enough to be able to get the list for my kids and a few others and I'm happy to help!

oh dont I know it I see so much $ going other places but for the kids, our kids now even have to supply computer paper???? because the poor teachers have to sign out for two reams a week only? it's crazy. I feel old saying this but my parents never had to pay for stuff other than extra classes like sewing supplies. I LOVED that brown recycled paper, and the big blue pencils.

My "baby" will be a senior in college, and I still try to take her back to school shopping every year. Sarah is such a sweetheart, she actually humors me. LOL

Now if she would just stop telling me about her Victoria's Secrets junk email when I complain about all my couponing emails.
