I just did this deal 5 times. For each transaction, I bought:
1 lb naturewell ground beef
2 fancier Dole Salads (they were on sale 3/5.00 or 1.66 each)

used:
$1.50/2 Dole Salads
$1.00/1 meat (naturewell coupon doubled from 50 cents to 1.00)
$3.00 Meijer coupon (I already had this from a previous order) - all the other transactions, I used the catalina.

So I left the store with 5 lbs beef, 10 bags of lettuce (not just the iceberg) - all for free AND I have a catalina coupon for $3.00 for the next time I visit.

I was all psyched up for the taco salad idea, got to the meat counter and the Naturewell ground beef was SOLD OUT - even asked the butcher if he had more - no such luck. I guess the OYNO is good for a couple more weeks, but what are the chances of the Dole salad going on sale again? Bummer. Which one of you went to Canton and bought all the beef?? :P

I tried this at about 5pm Saturday 6/27 and the catalina did NOT print (the machine was working). I had 2 icebergs and 1.55 of beef. This worked Friday when I did it but not Saturday, so YMMV! FYI, I did use the self checkout.

worked for me on Saturday evening around 8:30 with 1 lb Naturewell ground beef and 2 Dole iceberg salads

My store was out of the ground beef also. Butcher said he had no idea when they would get more and that 1 woman bought all of it 2 days in a row. GRRR

Yes, this is a promotion that runs through 7/11. You need to buy 2 Dole bagged salads and any one Naturewell beef product. There are some Qs to be found for the Dole salad, although the $.75 iceberg salad price ended for us on Saturday (some ads might still have this price depending on your ad run dates). I may wait until next week to see if the salad goes on sale again. I bought about 6 lbs. of beef and donated 10 bags of salad, so I'm good for now. What a bummer about stores being out of stock and that lady who took it all!!

I have some of the $1.50/2 Dole Qs I can trade if anyone needs some, lmk and I'll try to hook you up with a few!

I didn't see any of this brand pre-packaged; it was just in the butcher's case. The tag in the case had the Naturewell name on it.

The thought of me standing in the checkout line for 8 hours doing transaction after transaction ..... ahhhhhh .....catalina my sweet catalina ! FREE FOOD. Of course then I'd have to get salad dressing ...........

I am noting this in the OP, but another AFCer was able to get the $3 cat by purchasing 2 bags of the Dole slaw mix. Might help if you're drowning in bagged salad!

I went today and bought my 2 salads @ $.98 and a lb of naturewell for $3.49 using a $1.50 off the salads. NO CAT... And there were signs on Saturday and no signs today! It said good til 7/11! I am so bummed. I had planned on doing this 6 times and had all of the packaged meat and bags of salad.. I told them to take it all back. Aargh! ANY ADVICE?!

Did you go through the self serve checkout? For some reason this particular cat does not print on some of the self serves. So, if you did use self serve, try again through regular checkout lane.

I'm sorry you had a problem - I'm not sure why it didn't work. Sometimes the little catalina machine is out paper or jammed. I did this with the self checkouts and had no problem but I learned to make sure there was a green light on the catalina machine to make sure it was working. Perhaps you could try it again? That's so disappointing.

They ran out of salad here (giggle).

The Dole Salad here was "on sale" for .98/12oz bag & the beef was 3.49 per pound (claimed it was 93/7 which is very lean at least)
Got 2 bags/ 1/2 pound x 6 . so far that is ......... end up 'paying' about .75 per deal !! yea !!
I don't know if I am allowed to say this, but here goes. Using food stamps to pay sorta converts them to $$ that can be used on OTHER things in the store. Is this "legal" you think ?

Another thought . The 'ad' does NOT state a value on the beef, JUST that you buy it.
Hum ...... Salad at .98x2 = 1.96 Beef at 3.49 x 1/4# = .88 total = $2.84 .16 Money Maker ! ? Interesting, I wonder if it would print at this level ? If you had any coupons for the salad, it would be even better ! snicker
Of course the butcher might get a little peeved when you ask for 100 1/4# packages of beef ..........
Has anyone ever tried something like this before on other things ?

When the ground beef was on sale last week @ 2.19 lb. I was getting 1/2 lb. packages with the .75 Dole salad. Used the dole salad coupon and bought all three items for approx. a dollar and received the $3 Cat. Of course the prices aren't as good anymore so I haven't bought any this week.

Did 15 deals.
Total 30 bags of salad, 7# ground beef, 8 Fruit2O waters........ $4.00 OOP !
Had Free coupons for the water. Ended up paying .26 in tax on them.
FYI IF THE TOTAL IS BELOW $3.00 IT WILL GIVE YOU CHANGE BACK ON THE COUPON !
Had 1 that kicked back .52 !
