If all goes well, I plan on doing 4 transactions tomorrow - and paying oop less than $30. We shall see how it goes! The regular price for these items would be well over $100 at Rainbow - so I think I'm doing okay! Plan: #1 No-Name steaks - 9.99 (double $1 q) = 7.99 Fisher nuts - .97 (double $1 q) = Free +1.03 Hefty One-zip 1.81 (if reg is 2.49 and double $1 q) = Free +.19 I will get two of those Carefree 1.00 (double $1 q I got from a Women's Day mag) = Free +1.00 My total should be about 5.58 #2 6 Banana Nut Cheerios at 3.69 each (double 3 $1 coupons & take off $10) = 6.14 Fisher nuts - .97 (double $1 q) = Free + 1.03 Total - 5.11 #3 No Name steas - 7.99 (same as above) 3 Kids' Crest 1.00 each (use .50 q to double from 6/7 PG) = Free 1 Fisher nuts .97 (double $1 q) = Free +1.03 Total = 6.96 #4 Hefty One-zip Milk (use cat from last week) Lact-Aid milk - double .55 q = 3.39 Roundy's chicken breasts - 5.97 Marshmallows - .57 Open Pit - .47 Hormel Little Sizzlere - .77 Mac & Cheese .27 This should be somewhere around $11.00, depending on what is available and what I get. Should add up to less than $30 - woohoo!

I suppose with the Fisher coupon you could give the Rainbow coupon last? |

The Rainbows I go to the coupon will automaticly double up to the reg price of the item so if it is reg over $2 and you have a $1 coupon it will double up to that. I don't think the carefree will double up to that it says in the ad save up to $3.50 on 10so I think it will only double to $1.35 I think that is reg price. The fisher one should double if you give theirs last.

The cereal deal was running at my Rainbow again today. They have a lot more varieties included than they did last week. Unfortunately, the milk coupons I got expire 7/8/09. Not a lot of time to use them. Diana |

The cereals I saw were 3.19 to 3.85 in price. You wouldn't get overage on the Carefree (which they didn't have - not even a place on the shelf for it!) - my bad! I spent $35.92 oop today. Here's what I got: 2 boxes of No Name steaks 3 lbs of boneless, skinless chicken breasts 9 boxes of Hefty One-zip bags (various kinds/sizes) 1 box of Hefty cinch-sak bags 3 jars of Fisher nuts 1 pkg marshmallows 1 Open Pit bbq sauce 6 boxes of various Cheerios (NO Banana Nut - waaahh!) 1 gallon of skim milk (got overage!) 1 96 oz container of Lactaid milk 1.75 lbs of bananas 1 mac n' cheese 2 Hormel Little Sizzlers 1 Hostess fruit pie ( a treat for my ds who suffered through 4 transactions!) I thought I did pretty good. The Fisher nuts gave me $1.03 overage - I did give the store coupon last - not sure if that matters or not. I was tearing it out as the cashier was ringing it up every time - I kept forgetting about it until the end! Thank goodness for the Hefty one-zips. There was a blinkie right by them for $1/1 and I used those for fillers and to get lots of those bags. This was at the Savage store. They also did not have any Crest Kids' toothpaste that was pictured in the ad - they said they were out, but I didn't see any place for those either. Got a raincheck, but not holding my breath. So, I had to do some rearranging on the fly - but thought I did okay! I did not find the Ball Park/buns q anywhere - was REALLY hoping to find those! Last year they had them out all summer long practically - I hope I find them soon. Hope y'all have a good day of shopping!

I got 2 of the milks and when I went to use my free milk cats the cashier said they can't scan them! She just wrote 1.58 on them and then manually entered them si I was bummed! Glad it worked for everyone else! At least I got free milk. I did 2 transactions and spent 10.02 oop and saved 62.00 and got 4 free milk cats! I got 12 boxes of cereal 2 milks 2 Bar S hotdogs Kraft to go dressings (on clearance for 1.58 so .42 overage McCormick grill seasoning marshmallows 4 Red Gold tomato sauce 1 Pasta sauce 2 Hefty one zips 1 Purina kitten chow (free q) 1 Blue bunny personals 1 Activia Yogurt So not too bad for all of those things but would have been even better with the full milk cats off! Oh and they were out of the Fisher nuts so I got a rain check. |

I was so bummed at Rainbow tonight, about half the items on my list were out of stock. I wasn’t really interested in getting rainchecks, but I might still head back this week. I almost went home without buying anything, but I figured since I went, I may as well at least do the cereal deal again. So I ended up doing two transactions, because I had two peanut coupons and you could only buy one at a time. So I ended up buying 6 boxes of cereal, two gallons of milk, activia yogurt, two containers of peanuts, peanut butter, and ended up spending *drumroll* $2.58 plus I have two more coupons for a gallon of milk ($7 value). Plus there was $.42 in the change dish from a previous customer. I saved around $36 in coupons alone. YAY!

The wonderful thing about rainchecks at Rainbow is that you can then use them the next week to get to your $25 for doubling. You never know when you might need them! I almost always do more than one transaction because then I can double many more coupons since they only will double the first 5. The cashiers know that I do this and some even think it's great how I shop! shortygirl - sounds like you did awesome on your trip today! On a separate note, what is WITH some of these cashiers who won't even TRY to ring coupons through if your total isn't $25? They can't refuse to take your coupons. I would say I don't care if they double - just please scan them. If she tried to override the doubling - I would probably let it go and then go to customer service to return the items. Then I would go to another cashier the next time! I hope this is not a trend among cashiers - I've been hearing about that a lot on this board recently it seems...

I've had issues with the morning cashier at Inver Grove Hts Rainbow. Couple weeks ago she rang my stuff up, then when my coupons doubled she voided the doubles..."You have to be at 25.00 for your coupons to double." So I said I don't want any of this stuff then. Went back to the same store that afternoon, no problem doubling, when you hit 25.00 SHELF PRICE. This morning, same cashier, looked into my cart at my 5 Pepsi 12-pks and 2 pks of lightbulbs, tells me I won't get the pop at 1.77 ea unless I spend 25.00which doesn't include the cost of the pop. Well last night, Wed doubles, that's now how it worked, but she wouldn't even ring them up. I stopped at West St Paul Rainbow 10 minutes later. They have a self-check out. I scanned my 5 pops, and the price dropped even before I scanned the lightbulbs. So in W St Paul all you have to buy is 5 12pks to get them at 1.77 ea. |

MNKId I had no problems at West St. Paul or IGH doing 2 trans at each. Just depends on which cashier you get. Has anyone reached $.50 on the gas pirks yet? I have and when they tried to scan my card it said exceeded limit. When the manager came over she said you could only use the card 3 times in one day (which is not true, this was the 8th trans). But I am thinking you can't rack any more cents off until you use it. Anyone know for sure? |
