HUGE savings during Big Y's Triple Coupon Week!

BigY is having triple coupon week. That means any coupon under .99 gets tripled. YEEHAW!

The local food pantry is going to be very happy to see some of this stuff..

I spent about 2 hours preparing, and only got about 1/2 my shopping done. Seriously my cart was overflowing and I didn't want to have to drag two around the store... so I'll probably go back tomorrow for more juice and drink mixes.

I'm not going to go into huge details with prices and coupon amounts except for a few items.

4C drink mixes were Buy 1, Get 1 FREE.. and I had B1G1 coupons, which made ALL of them free. There was a limit of 5 deals.. so 10 drink mixes. I saved over $60 on those alone.

Carolina rices were $1 each, with $.75 off 2. Tripled that means for every 2 rice packets I bought, I made $.25. I bought 28 of them.

The small boxes of rice were $1.29. Coupons were for $.50, tripled $1.50. I made $.21 for every box. I bought 16.

Those tiny overages added up to me getting other items totally free... like the Coke, Beef Stocks, and Tuna.

I AM a little disappointed because the cashier (a total sweetheart) took the coupons off of the boxes of New York breads. They were $.55, tripled to $1.65. I had coupons for $.75 which would have tripled to $2.25, making the entire order in the negative... or FREE.

Now keep in mind that the ad SAID they were not going to give overages, however this store did. Otherwise I would have had to pay about $20 or so for my order.

I have to do Shaws and S&S tomorrow. God help me.

Next time there's a Big Y triples event I think we need to have a sleepover at your house. I am so jealous...

I think Stop and Shop only does doubles. I've never seen them do triples. BUt they DO have dollar doublers (this week!!) so you can get some equally amazing deals.

While walking thru the store, I actually thought "holy crap this place is expensive compared to shaws". ALOT of their regular prices were high.. like the regular price for the 4C drinks was $6.59. That's nuts! I think it's like $4.89 at shaws. Good thing they were completely free!

And they didn't have fabulous deals on HBA or cleaning.. the prices were just too high.

90% of those rice mixes and boxed rice is going to the food pantry here in town. Probably some of the Wacky Mac too since I still have 20 coupons to use. I didn't clean the shelf out but had I used the rest of the coupons I had it would have been empty. I hate leaving a shelf empty like that... ticks me off when I see other people do it too.

Come on!!!! I have a giant loft with pull out sofa and tons of air mattresses. It'll be a big slumber party.

I think they do triples every month.. maybe it's every 5 weeks. The last one was in early May.

Finally made it to MA after work.... I hit up two stores in MA and two CT stores (had 6 double dollar qs)...

I saved 305.42 in qs, 134.26 in store sales, so 439.68 in total savings with and OOP of 57.38....so I saved 88.46%...

I did splurge on some bug repellent that was on sale, some juice, and pizza, but I didn't go too overboard...AND...on my last stop in CT, I got to talk to the hottie grocery manager....so it was a pretty good Big Y road trip....
