| Do any South Carolina Publix accept Target or drug store coupons?
Hi, I am always hearing about Publix stores that accept competitors other than grocery stores. Do any of you fellow South Carolinians have a store that does this? If so, where? Thanks in advance!

Publix on Coleman blvd in Mt Pleasant takes drug store and Target coupons. I haven't tried the other stores in town because this is the closest store to me and my favorite.

Mauldin on Butler and Fairview Rd. in Simpsonville both do. I think Woodruff Rd. does also.

| I used a $5/$25 Rite Aid coupon last night and a $5/$25 CVS last week. They accept any "cents off" competitor coupons at my store as well. I haven't tried any other drug store coupons. I do use Target and Food Lion coupons as well as Catalina's from other stores. I don't think many people use them at my store because the cashiers are always a little unsure about what to do with them. But CS is awesome and always walk them through it. I saved $10 using competitor coupons last night. That wasn't including my other coupons and in-store sales. I saved $75.10 and my OOP was $44.20. CS was very impressed. Just ask your CS what coupons they accept. My store is very coupon friendly and always willing to tell me what q's are okay to use.

thanks shoppinmomma, i went to the publix on coleman blvd last nite, it was kinda late, and the cs didnt really know what coupons they took, she ended up telling me that they would not take target coupons since target is not a grocery store (im going back today since you said they do, and they have more people working and see if it will work) but i did get the edy's ice cream for 50 cents a half gallon, which is awesome! so thanks for the info....im thinking im gonna love staying here for the summer!

. I had a $5/$25 Rite Aid coupon, Target coupons, a Bilo catalina and FLIP's and they took them without a problem. I've used Target q's many times now and a CVS $5/$25. I think there aren't too many people who are aware that Publix takes these, because some of the cashiers are always asking CS if they are okay. They are really nice about it though. I told Sonja about this site because she was so excited about my savings. She said to just come and see her and she'd point out any new coupons that they get in. I LOVE that store! And FYI, Harris Teeter is having triples up to .99 starting on wed. There is one on Long Point Rd in Mt P at Belle Hall and one on Housten Northcutt close to the Cooper River. And the Bilo across from Publix on Coleman doubles up to .60. Feel free to pm me if you have any questions.

Publix not accepting Super Target and Wal-Mart coupons is because they aren't "traditional grocery competitors" which is what the original policy stated. Corporate leaves it up to the Store Manager to decide the competitors due to things like location. "Technically" no store should be taking target, cvs, walmart, petsmart, etc. type coupons but with the way the economy is, it is drawing customers in. The problem is that I know for a fact that each time most of you walk into Publix, the store loses money. I have seen the numbers. I'm not putting you all down, kudos for saving money. So it is hard for Publix to turn down customers but in the same sense the stores getting hit hard will tighten up.

I went to my local publix and they have this big sign posted...it reads we accept other supermarket coupons...so I had to go in and ask what other supermarket coupons do you accept? The girl at customer service answered, any of our competitors coupons. So, I am assuming that if I show up over there with WD coupons or sweetbay or target they will not give me hell!!

I checked with my store and they will not take the Target q's because we do not have a SuperTarget and they do not consider the regular Target a grocery store competitor. They will take the Winn Dixie q's though.

They probably won't take the Target q's, even if there is a Super Target nearby. It is not considered a competitor. Only other grocery stores are competitors. But, it never hurts to ask.

I would definitely ask because my store does consider Target a competitor. I use Target q's in there all the time. ![]() Each Publix has a different policy on who they consider competitors so if you have a few different ones you could shop at I would ask at each one which comp. q's they will accept. |

nope not our publix here in south fla. I have a walmart grocery store and a supertarget within 2 minutes of mine and they will not take them per the manager since they are not considered a grocery store... there should be a better policy and corporate wide since there is SO much inconsistency between stores..

Wow I live in Altamonte Springs,FL (Central FL) and my Jamestown Publix takes Target but right up the road the Apopka one doesn't. When I told the girl at the checkout I'd rather just go to my Publix she said she'd go ahead and take them and just let her manager know why she did. THere is a lot of inconsistency across the board with the whole "competitor" coupons issue. |

My Lawrenceville GA store takes Kroger, CVS, Walmart, Walgreens, Rite Aid. I'm not sure about Whole Foods at my store since it's further away, but they are friendly enough that I think they probably would.
