It's General Mills. My dad works there and told me that they do the Aldi Millville cereal brand. So those are the real Cheerios we're eating, for HALF the price! General Mills also does Betty Crocker, so they could be behind Aldi cake mixes and brownies. I'm pretty sure someone else does the fruit snacks. They taste totally different. |

My friend's hubby used to manage a bunch of Aldi's and he said all of their lines are from good manufacturers. Their Mayo is Hellman's ![]()

![]() We just got a brand new Aldi here and I LOVE it because it's huge..but the people who shop there are RUDE RUDE RUDE. I shop at Aldi a lot..especially if my coupons don't make name brand things as cheap as or cheaper than Aldi..and I can say that most of everything there is very good quality. The only things I can think of off the top of my head that I dislike are the Mayo and the Spaghetti sauces. The fresh meats are fantastic at my store. |

My mother and grandmother swear by Aldi but I can't handle it. The stores here are small, the checkouts are slow, and they just don't have a lot of stock to make it worth it for me to go out of my way to go there. ![]() |

From what I had seen and heard about Aldi's they actually have their own people that manufacturer their products - they take something like Cheerios and make a close version of it. |

I know! Our checkers are so fast I'm usually still unloading too & they are waiting on me. The only issue I have is that they usually only have 1 checker open which I don't like but the prices for milk & bread alone are worth it!

They actually have two and the names are slightly different. One is yucky and I think it may be miracle whip or Kraft or something like that. The lady showed us which to buy. I wish we weren't out or else I would copy the label for you.

My local Aldis store manager told me the frozen boneless chicken breast are Tyson's. He has been transferred to another store but I always wished I had asked him they where "seconds" not necessarily in meat quality but because they are not similar in size. Tyson's brand it seems like all of the chicken breast are very similar in size and well Aldi's I usually have one or two in the bag I cut in half because they are to big. We do not like the individual wrap cheese slices but we love the deli slice cheese. We use Aldi to fill in our groceries after our weekly coupon run. Some items it is just hard to beat the Aldi price even with doubling coupons. Thankfully, our Aldi is across the street from my favorite couponing grocery store and Walgreens is only 4 or 5 blocks down the street. |

I buy the Millville "Cheerios" but I swear they look different than the real thing and smell way worse - if my kids are eating them I can tell just by walking in the room! (And no, I'm not pregnant but often have an "Oh-no!" thought for a moment!)

Interesting. But just because the company makes it for them doesn't mean it is the identical product, they can certainly make it with a different 'recipe' ![]()

![]() Also if you can plan your trip to Aldis, try to schedule around their busy times such as lunch hour, rush hour after work, Thursday and Friday evenings, and Saturdays.I have found the stores to be more manageable outside those times. |

I have found I go to Aldi's more frequently now. I keep trying different things with suprising satisfaction. I now shop there B4 my regular Grocer. The fruits and veggies are fresher, the cheese is very good and cheap, my favorite cereal is the 3 berry 'Cheerios". I love the middle isles - there are always nice suprises there.

Cereal bars are Kellogg's
I have a friend whose hubby is a district manager at Aldis. She said all the cereal bars are Kellogg's Nutragrain bars. She also said the frozen chicken is all from Tyson.

I've had other store brand 'mini-wheat's and couldn't stand them. Love the Aldi's brand and could tell right away they were the real thing. Same with the corn chips. |

I've heard from some people that the Aldi ketchup is actually Heinz. Anyone else noticed that?

In HS I took a Marketing course offered at the local Tech School and I learned there that most (if not all) generics are made at the same plants as the name brands. The only difference is the "nice" product is the name brand. For example all the even cut, nice looking peaches are canned as Dole/Del Monte but the odd sized or broken pieces are packaged as generic.

We absolutely love Aldi. We do a lot of our shopping there. I always buy 10 cans of mandarin oranges at a time because they go so fast in our house! I also stock up on the green beans, spinach, saurkraut, pork and beans and their macaroni and shells. The Beaumont coffee is great at $4.99 for a 34.2 oz can. The cashier is always faster than me. I can't unload the cart fast enough! LOL! |

We have to drive to the next town over to go to Aldi, but we love it. We go once a month and stock up on canned foods, fit and active drink mixes, and a few other things. The only thing we have tried that we dont like is their chicken nuggets. They are HORRIBLE!
