Dead Deal GDA on Unilever products...wk of 4/5

I did a quick search and didn't see this so forgive me if it's a repost...

On the last page of the grocery ad there's "buy 4 of these participating items at $1.79 each, get the 5th participating item FREE" It includes Caress and Lever 2000 bar soaps, suave body wash, suave hair care, Q-tips, Suave deodorant, and vaseline.

I got 3 Q-tips and 2 deodorants for $3.66 or roughly .73 each. I used:
(3) .30/1 Q-tips MQ (my store doubled only 2 of them)
(2) .50/1 deodorant MQ

There might be better ways to do this...but these were the only Qs I had.

Don't forget that in the Unilever coupon insert this weekend, there was an offer:
Buy $40 of Unilever products (multiple transactions and receipts are allowed) and get a rebate up to $20 on your turkey or ham.

If you could find a way to combine these 2 deals, your money could really stretch! Your rebate total would be calculated on what you spend before coupons!

Here are the details:
Unilever Rebate

Nice, I didn't see that rebate form. $40 in Unilever products is an awful lot though.

I don't know...$40 might not be too bad if you could add in a bunch of the free trial size Axe body wash with the $1/1 any size Q from that insert. They have them at WalMart for $.97. Coupon beeped, but no reason it can't be used--no size stated. I suppose if you could get enough of those coupons, you might be able to get the $20 rebate for free. I'll have to check the rebate form to see if any sizes are listed or just brands. HTH!

ETA: I don't see any specific sizes necessary...only brands. Don't see why the free (after Q) Axe travel size wouldn't work. I'm also buying the I Can't Believe It's Not Butter this week and the Breyers, which both count toward the rebate. I believe Kroger has the Wishbone dressings on sale. If you're going to buy a ham or turkey anyway, might as well get your $40 worth of Unilever products. They'd essentially be free after the rebate and coupons! I don't think it would be a great deal if you didn't need the ham or turkey, though.

The bar soaps included in the B4G1F Univlever deal are the 2-count size. Does your Q give size restrictions?

So the $40 I spend is truly $40 worth in order to get the rebate? It is the balance after coupons have been subtracted? (For example, I spend $55.00 and have $16.00 worth of coupons so that leaves me with $39.00 spent. That's not enough for the rebate?) I'm a little confused on this one.

The $40 spent would be BEFORE coupons are deducted, since you're required to circle the products and store prices on the receipt. So the more coupons you have, the better the deal will be for you!

If you spend $55, you'd be good to go, regardless of what you paid after coupons. They have no way of knowing which coupons match up with which products. You're technically "paying" for part of your order with coupons, not deducting from the price with coupons. Hope that helps!

I agree with jonoma. If you have to circle the prices for each qualifying item on the receipt - you get 'credit' for the price before Q's.... The only exception might be when you get the item free at Meijer because it shows up as "free" under the price with the reimbursement amount.

Example: Meijer has the Buy 4 at $1.79, Get 1 Free on some Unilever products (like Suave). On the receipt I circled the $1.79 prices for 4 items (although I used MQ's that show up below), then I circled the 5th price with the free note. So I'll probably get credit for $7.16 but I'm going to check the fine print on the rebate to make sure...

Unilever rebate question? Brand names not showing on receipt.

Anyone notice that on the Meijer's receipts that no brand names are shown? I've bought a total of $23.94 so far ($16 to go & my ham of course) including Suave gel, Suave deodorant, Breyer's Ice Cream, ICBINB spray. None of those are listed by name on the receipts. For example, next to Breyer's, it says "ice cream". There is a code before the description so that might suffice. I hope the receipt is acceptable.

Anyone know?

I think these number codes on the receipt match the UPC don't they?
