| What Does Walgreens Do With Unclaimed RRs?
Bought 1 edge shaving cream yesterday; 7oz gives $1 RR this week and it's on sale for 1.99 (mine was 1.89 on clearance). After I paid, the cashier pulled out her coupon accordian binder and opened it like she was about to put something in it. I kept standing there after she handed me my receipt and told me "thanks have a nice day" waiting for the rr to print out. When it started printing out I said "I think that's mine" and she put her coupon binder back and gave me the rr without a word. Looked to me like she was planning to put the rr in her coupon binder. This seems fishy to me. If she were just going to take it for personal use, I don't see why she would put it in the coupon binder (I think that's what they use to organize the qs they have to turn in) but wondering if cashiers are told to keep unclaimed rr tickets and what walgreens then does with them? |

That does sound fishy. It's amazing how long the RR's sometimes take to print. Someone that doesn't regularly use RR's would probably walk away. I'd like to know if anyone works at WAGS and can answer this.

Not sure, but when I have said no thanks to the enfamil ones (I know what was I thinking?) they have written void on them and thrown them away.

I noticed at the Walgreens I go to the BA has an accordian file filled with various coupons. I have given her coupons that are just about to expire or expired a day or two before and she told me she gives them to customers. So either your cashier was going to save it for another customer or for herself. But, it sounds like she was going to keep it for herself. |

Today I was at Albertson and was checking out at a self serve because the all the checkout stands lights were off. The checker lady came up to me and started helping me out and the self check out stand froze a little bit before I was done with my order. There were some RR printing out at the time. She had to take me over the the regular checkout stand and start all over again, which the RR started to print out again. At the end of the transaction she ripped the RR that had printed out at the self check out and gave me the new ones that printed out at her check out stand. I was like, no don't rip them! I didn't say anything to her. I guess she doesn't coupon because she just threw away $5.00 in RR.

I am sure that cashier was going to keep those RR. You should report the incident to the store manager. They'll watch her and she should be terminated - it's theft.

My wags has the same coupon holder/file to store all the coupons they get from the customers. My cashier has it right infront of her and shoves the coupons in file after she scans them.

I've gotten pretty chummy with one of the cashiers at my Walgreens. She is always impressed at how low I get my balance. Anyways, I remember her mentioning that employees were not allowed to use RR. Don't know if this is a corporate policy or if this is how the store manager at this Walgreen's keeps his employees honest.

Any way to find out which Walgreens are better stocked? I am having a hard time finding what I need at mine...no Garnier Cleanser, no Dove soap, no coloring books---ever? Whats this about special orders? Can anyone ask for that?

The other day when I bought the advil pm no rr printed out. The manager came over and took one out of a folder and gave it to me. So my guess is they use them if one dosen't print out.

I work at a Walgreens, and to clarify the questions above: 1) All unclaimed RRs are supposed to go straight in the trash 2) Employees in my area can use RRs, however, they must be with the receipt you purchased them on, or have the store number, transaction number, employee number, and manager's initials on them I have been working at Walgreens for about 5 years, and it sounds like your employee was doing what loss prevention would consider theft. I would report this, because it was unethical, and you wanted your RR |

I also work for Walgreens and our policy is almost the same. 1. If a customer doesn't want their RR then we write void on them and throw them away. We are not allowed to keep them, even if the customer tells us to. 2. We are allowed to use any RR's that we receive when we ring up. As long as we are there as a customer then the RR's apply to us just as they would to anyone else. I would send an email reporting this also if I was you, it's definitly against the rules to do that. |
