I tried to buy two packs today, and the cashier wouldn't let me use my coupons since they exceeded the purchase price. Anyone else have this problem?

Nope! Either ask to see a manager, or ask if they can change the coupon amount to $0.99. That is crazy that they are concerned about a penny, but I can see that it might have been an issue if you were trying to buy nothing buy the gum. Then they would be just paying you to take it. They don't like to do that very often.

The coupon scanned, no problem. I got 10 today too! I could only find 2 flavors,spearmint and fruit.

I asked if they could change the coupon to .99, and she said they couldn't do that! Ugh. I should've asked to see the mgr. It's not a big deal, but I wanted some gum for free! I'll just get it when I go back on Sunday for my penny item. And I was buying a whole buggy load, so there wasn't an issue with paying me. I could see how taking out groceries AND cash wouldn't be what they had in mind, LOL.

I just finished picking up my 58 free packs of gum. It felt great to actually get something for free and have lots of coupons to stock up.

i went to the publix in Twin Oaks shopping center in Savannah Ga( yup... im blasting them) and tried using the coupon and an older cashier told me ( 4 times) i could not use the coupon. I mean, I asked if the coupon could be adjusted and she said no and then 4 times over how i couldnt use it. I mean, i took the coupon back when she said it the first time but she had to tell me over and over... i could have just screamed at her but I wasnt raised that way. So, i just returned all the gum. I then saw her talking to a manager and they both were looking at me while i returned the gum... i was so looking forward to either of them coming over to me and telling me anything... even hi just to let them both have it. I mean, i must spend thousands of dollars at publix and it ( maybe was) my fav store but for a penny they are willing to lose a customer. . Cashiers make you feel like you a stealing when you have coupons. Must be the economy cuz it was never this bad before. so no gum for me...

I am in Ga. also, and you r right to put em on blast, I had no problems using my q's and i carry a copy of the Publix q policy, just in case. At my Publix, I have gotten to know the Customer Svc. people, and I use the excuse of not wanting to bring a cashiers line to a standstill with all my q's, so I check out there. What is really nice about this is, they have a Supervisory code, so that when my number of q's exceeds, items, they can overide it, and continue applying the Q's. I also have found that as a result of the training they go thru, they are better versed in the Publix Q Policy. I have also encountered the older cashiers who cringe at the site of me, so I know just what you are saying. I think that it is just they don't understand the business model of a q, in terms of reinbursement to the corp. and shopper loyalty.

You need to teach them some math and take your biz elsewhere, on one of the post i read that Rite Aid had reduced one flavor of the Mentos to 99 cents, if you have one nearby, go there, and take your receipt in to Publix the next time you go and share it with them. They tend to understand dollars lost, when it's staring right at them.

Remember, as q users we are helping them to not only earn reinbursement on the value of the q, but also a nice little handling fee on each and everyone !

I forgot my binder yesterday (at least I remembered the kids ) but I did notice that the Mentos gum is .69 at my Publix. I will be going back tomorrow by myself to get them and the other stuff I did not get because I had no q's.

My Publix in Sarasota, FL had the Mentos gum on sale for 69c each. I used my $1.00 coupons and I had a couple of 55c coupons to use also.

oh thank you for reminding me about the .55 coupons. I would have forgot about those. I used some coupons when it was .99 no problem but when the price reduced to .69 they would not take a .99 coupon. I had 2 coupons, bought 3 mentos and they took it.
