I went to WM tonight to get a few thing that would be free after q's and the csm told me they could not price match the kroger or cvs ad because you have to have a card with that store. The items i wanted did not have to have the card.

I had that happen to me once and I immediately asked for the manager. He said it was ok to pm items the only ones that can't do was for Sam's or Costco ads.

Sorry you had problems. Did you have the ad with you? I know on the CVS ad it states if you need a CVS card or not to get the price. I don't have a Kroger so Idon't know about them. I've never tired price matching at Walmart...I'll have to give it a try.

Yes I had the ad with me for both of them.

I had a cashier tell me this before too. I asked to speak to a manager and she looked at the cashier sort of oddly and said "no it's fine".

I'v not been able to get them to do it. No matter what store ad I bring in they always say NO. Not one of the stores we match! Well then what is???????????????

Have you called and talked to the store manager about this? I thought Wal-mart had a commercial on not long ago talking about the fact that they price match local ads. I very well could have made that up. But I think that's true. May be worth a call to the manager to see though.

My WM is getting picky too...picking and choosing the stores they match...whatever!!!!

They are suppose to match ads in your local area. When I worked for walmart I always pricematched rather the store required you to have a card or not. I figured walmart wasnt losing out on much and it keeps bringing the people back. I've had them say we cant and I always ask for a manager, not a csm but a real member of management (salaried member that is). They always get the csm and I say no I want someone higher. Usually the manager gets mad cause they are pulled away from sitting in the back doing much of nothing and give it to. You should call and either talk to the store manager or go back with the ads again and when they say no ask for a manager. They are suppose to price match, if the store doesnt they are going against their own policy and therefor you have reason to complain to home office just remember their number is easy 1800walmart .

My walmart will not price match card items they also will not price match the buy 5 different participating products and get them for 20.00 promo that my Kroger seems to be advertising alot of.

someone posted her WM matched KMart super doubles and they doubled her coupons $2 or less!

therefore, it seems to me its becoming YMMV even at WM regardless of what their official policy says.

Here is a link to thier corporate coupon policy. Print it out and keep in your purse at all times like I do. It says right on the policy that they accept price matching competitor's ads with cards.

Thats too bad. I have had that happen a couple times before. The last time it happened I was especially annoyed, so I said, " I can show you my CVS card if that would make a difference!" She didn't seem to appreciate my sarcasm........

in situations like that I always ask to speak to the manager. some cashiers are new and dont really know what to give discounts on. so you always know when you ask a manager and they know for the next time

I printed the link too.The last time when the cashier gave me a problem I showed her the policy.I always carry it in my folder now.

I always do comp without the card. Like when Krogers has milk on sale, a half gallon for 4/5 I will comp it.Or even pop I never do ask for the card.
