Birthday cakes from walmart???

I have never ordered a cake from walmart before so i need to know a little info first.
When I first order it do i have to pay for it then or when i get the cake?
How many days before it is ready, ill need it done by friday?
How much are the 1/4 sheet cakes?
Online it says if you buy a personalized birthday cake you can get a free 4inch cake for the LO.

Any help would be great,thanks!

their cakes taste great, you pay for it when you pick it up,at least give them 3 days notice, price range between 14.00 -20.00. It depends on which cake you pick out. You can order half and half ( choc or white) hope this helped. I always get my birthday cakes from Walmart. They give the little cake to the child for their 1st birthday.

I got my son's birthday cake from WM last October and I was really impressed! He loves skateboarding and wanted a pretty detailed design, and they did an excellent job. It was only $18 and they even included 2 tech decks on it! We were very happy!

We did my sons 1st birthday cake from there. We did a puppy dog theme and they didn't have any design with dogs, so I left one of the napkins with them and told them what I wanted - they did a great job. Their cakes taste soo good too!

We did an Elmo theme for DD's 2nd birthday party. We got a cupcake cake and a big chocolate chip cookie that was decorated with elmo's face. It was very yummy! It was the first time we got a cake from Walmart so I wasn't sure what to expect. We will definitely order our future cakes from them!

I don't remember the requirements but I think I gave them 3 days notice. I paid when I picked it up. I don't remember the exact cost either but it was cheaper than other stores in the area.

Yep, got DS cake there for 2nd Bday. We did a Disney - Cars theme. We decided to do the cupcake-cake. It was super convenient! They decorate it so it looks like a full cake but it's individually wrapped cupcakes underneath. No cutting involved - yippee! Everyone was impressed with the idea AND the cake

We have gotten my DD cakes there and they are WONDERFUL!! Our Walmart only asked for 24-48 hours notice and I paid when I picked it up. They have lots of designs to choose from also if you don't already have one picked out.

Good Luck and enjoy!!

I've always felt that our Sam's Club cakes tasted better than Wal-mart. WM here requires 24 hrs. notice min. Definitely get the whipped topping. The cupcake cakes are cute too.

Honestly, if you can make the cake yourself the day before , it can be fun and cute. I made the flip flops cake for my dd from the instructions off of Family Fun's website. It turned out awesome and my dd helped (7 yrs.)! I only went to the dollar store to buy the silk flowers and some candy.

Have a good party!

I love their cakes, but not the icing. Maybe I got a bad one. We got a Walmart cake 2 years ago (I've never ordered one since). The cake itself was moist... Loved it. BUT, the icing I think was old. Not sure. When I tried to slice the cake the whole part of the icing came off in chunks. It was the butter cream. Tasted old too. I called the Walmart and the only thing they said was sorry. Never ordered there again.

Now their boxes cheesecakes are really good. Not sure if they make them or its a commercial kind.

I only order my cakes from Sam's club or Fisher's grocery store.

They are very good. Just remember if it is a colorful cake the colors are not so great on the fluffy frosting they tend to fade. I got a flip flop cake once and it was just gorgeous. I personally like the butter cream frosting i just don't eat much of it.

Not a birthday cake but here is a great job Walmart did on a cake for us:

When Mom was in the hospital there at the end, my brother, I, and my kids wanted to do something for the staffers who had been so great. So we did the donut, danish, & bagel thingy a couple of times. Then we wanted to do something else and DD went to Walmart. She came back with a fruit tray - lots of watermelon, cantaloupe, pineapple, grapes, etc. She also brought back a "watermelon cake". This was really attractive and nicely done. It looked like a huge slice (1/2 round) of watermelon. Red, green, white, black seeds. Really cute. The staffers loved it. And then we had taken care of the sweets lovers and the dieters (fruit).

Thanks for all your suggestions and comments ladies.
I didn't get to go out today so i think i will take rntg83 suggestion and just call probably wendsday and order it.Now i have to just decide what I want. I'm thinking of something simple.White frosting with maybe light pink frosting around the edges.Maybe a big pink "1" on it somewhere.
Blah i have no idea what i want!

I'm sorry, but i have to say 2 thumbs down on wal-mart cakes.

Two seperate times we have all gotten sick from eating thier cakes. It was the most embarassing thing ever to have all of us, our family and guests getting sick.

Some ppl were getting sick right away and other had "sickness" for days

The cakes were properly store and it clealy was the cake making ppl sick

never in my life i will order or purchase a pre-made cake from that store again.

I would much rather spend $5 more at Publix and not have our family and guests getting sick.

I'll be a conformist ... we've done Walmart for all three of DS's birthdays and not a single problem. This last time they even sorta did a custom job for me and it was great. Wouldn't think of going anywhere else!

I am actually picking up DS birthday cake from walmart today. I went with Ironman and buttercream frosting. I will let you know how it turns out. I just went yesterday afternoon and it will be ready today. Works great for a procrastinator like me...
