My store changed their coupon policy!

So my store recently decided to change their coupon policy and NOT let you combine Publix with MFC. They always have but I guess one cashier said no because it said cannot be used in conjuction with another. They called the store manager over and he said no. I know the csm and she let me know before I tried that they had changed. I told her that people have e-mailed corporate and they say you can. She said can you bring me those e-mails. So I went here and to my other forum and printed out three that I could find plus e-mailed corporate myself. I brought in the three e-mails I printed out to my csm and she said she was going to talk to store manamger. She was totally on my side. Anyway I got a phone the next day from the manager and voila they are going to take both coupons!! Yeah for me because I did not want to go to my other Publix because they do let you combine but are very uncoupon friendly. I try to avoid goignt there unless absolutely neccesary.

I had a problem in my local fl store a few days ago. The manager tried to tell me that all of a sudden I could not use a coupon for each b1/g1 item. She handed me back a stack of coupons and said that because the item is free they could not use coupons and that every store has been doing coupons wrong blah blah. So I was really upset and I called headquarters. The district manager called me back within 5 minutes and apologized. He had no idea what that manager was talking about and said that he would send a publix manager to my home and reimburse me for the coupons she would not accept. She was really a very rude woman. She really had made me feel as though I was a thief using two coupons on b1/g1 items. He also sent me 2 letters to clarify the situation in writing. This is for Palm Coast FL Town Center Store.

Mrs. Pascale,

I wanted to make sure that we are clear on everything so I wanted you to know that you can only use 1 coupon per item. So if you have a buy one get one item you can use a coupon for each one.

I am sending this in response to your inquiry about our coupon policy. I wanted to assure you that we do accept coupons on all items, including sale items, even on items that are Buy one Get one free.

Thanks,
Adrian Bennett

I had a similar experience at my local Publix. I was told that I could not combine both the store coupon with the manufacturer. The lady was so rude to me. Told me that I was not "entitled" to get the item for free. I was embarrassed infront of my nine year old. She made such a fuss that I told her that I would go somewhere else where they would take my coupons. I was so humiliated with her treatment; I walked away in tears. She rolled her eyes and looked at me like I was a "scam artist" I emailed corporated; the next day the store manager called me. I told her what happened she told she was sorry and told me I was right. I haven't returned to that store even though its closer. I just told her that I wanted all the employees to know the coupon policy so that no one else would be embarrassed infront of a audience like I was. But when we have an experience like this; we have a duty to place a call or write an email to make things right. I love my local Kroger I have been going there for years. I have never had a problem with them.

It was Milstead Crossing-1591 Hwy. 20. But, it all depends on the cashier person. Sometimes you can tell right away, what kind of service you are going to get. In the past, I never had a problem there. One thing I have learned from my bad experiences is to always be respectful and try to defuse the situation. Try to use common sense even if you know you are right. Keep cool; then take matters in the appropriate way. The best thing you can get out of an argument is to avoid it. And the attitude of how you approach a certain situation makes all the difference.

I'm from loganville area, at publix today they told me they no longer take Food Lion or Target q's...they were sent a list from corporate of the 'competitor' q's they are permited to take and Food Lion is not one of them.

I'll be checking Grayson and Snellville to see if they've changed their policy also, sigh. I LOVE the food lion q's for produce...

the cashier was so awful that I went to CS and complained (it takes a lot to get me to do that!) the CSM gave me a q for free 1/2 gallon publix ice cream and $5 off my order...that was pretty cool

Okay, so I have 2 Publix's that only have been taking off 1.00 on competitor coupons. The one store I love is in Grayson and I spoke with one of the managers there and he said there are 2-3 ladies in the Grayson, Snellville and Loganville area that have been getting $100.00 worth of groceries for less than $2.00. He said they use there mfg coupons and match up with the store coupons which is fine, but he said they have come in and in the same order used a Rite aid coupon, 3 of the cvs coupons( like the ones that say 10 off 50, 5 off 30 and a 4 off 20) and then some extra care bucks and then try to squeeze some Register Rewards from Walgreens and some other competitor q's.
Okay....Don't they know that not only are they ruining it for everyone else because you are getting greedy, but you won't be able to do it for yourself either. The big picture here is to keep saving in the long run, not get $400.00 worth of free groceries for 1 month and the rest of the year your going to pay for it, (unless you go to Kroger or walmart). He said he almost called the police on her because when he spoke to her she wanted to argue about it, but he wasn't telling her she couldn't use the coupons. He was trying to say one competitor coupon in one transaction ( the ones that say spend 50 take 10 off).
This is the only grocery store in the area that take competitor coupons and I would like for it to stay that way. Did they ever stop to think that if word got around how they are doing their orders and if Publix allowed it, how fast that store would go out of business??
This is why cvs's in my area stopped allowing you to stack those dollar off coupons. He said as long as you don't abuse it. Be smart about it. He said he sees the same customer coming in and using the same Rite aid coupon 5-6 times a week.

Was it Randall you spoke too? He's pretty good about UNDERSTANDING and EXPLAINING the coupon use I always ask when I'm not sure about coupon use. There are one or two cashiers I avoid though...they are just not coupon
friendly...

Stacking publix q's and competitor q's has never been allowed at Grayson because both are considered 'store' q's. I do know some people who stack various store q's on 1 item and I always cringe when they say they have done it because it makes the rest of us (who are careful) look 'suspicious'!

When I called Grayson tonight to get their new coupon policy they told me that they are still accepting food lion q's but not pharmacy q's. They also told me they would give me the $ back on the food lion q's loganville refused!!!!

When I shopped at Loganville Publix today they refused my food lion q's but accepted my Wags q's for the l'oreal...so weird. A few miles away and they claim
to have different q's policies!

just noticed they expired yesterday...glad I used them they often come out though! Just
keep an eye on the food lion forum too.

Yesterday I bought $10 of produce
used 2 FLIP's so -$4
bought 3 bread 2.99x3 =8.97
3x -.55q=-1.65
3 $2 free produce q's -6

so purchases 18.97
q's 11.65

total 7.32 for 3 loaves of GOOD bread and
$10 worth of produce
