May be a dead deal, they changed the website. I have copies of the original rebate pdfs.
Apparently there are 2 different UPC coded boxes out there.

If you want to take a chance that the rebates work you'll need:
1) a box with UPC #040293009687
2) a printout of the $70 rebate (before they changed it a few minutes ago)

I might, my parents are going to get here this afternoon & I told them I had some errands to run, might go by RS and see if they have any...if they do, I'll get one...but not rushing out 'cause we really don't need another one (but if it's free, well, you know!).

Yeah the website cahnged - this morning it listed a $65 and $70 dollar rebate for a final price of -5.01. Now it is just showing the $65 rebate. Where did the $70 dollar rebate go?

ok...i just called radio shack, i couldn't resist it, i couldn't let this deal pass me by. i put 1 on hold. i saw both mail in rebates were on the website to the right of the dvd player picture!! i don't have one of these..so being that cheap, this is the perfect time to get one!!!!

It looks like the $70 dollar rebate form was good for purchases On November 25th. They must not have tidied things up this morning when the posted the new rebate information. SO THERE IS NO $70 Rebate form that is valid for Today's purchase as far as I can see.

I printed out both rebates this morning before I went to Radio Shack, as well as the ad on line. the item I got has the same upc # on both rebates,I bought 5 of them as extra gifts, I'm going to call them now, free I'll take them for 70 don't need them

I don't have it on pdf file, but will mail you a copy if you like. I called the shack several times and apparently it is either not between 8am-5pm central or its a holiday for all departments. I did call the store and get they said that it was an error and that they are not responsible for the error nor will they be honoring it. I will try back on Monday and find out what the deal is but I am still going to play stupid and mail in my rebates along with the printed ad of theres and wait for there response, if they reject it I will bring them back and deal with it then...

i woke shopz up at 5am she told me i was nuts and nobody would be there - we got to RS at 750am and there was another guy there waiting, they had 15 in stock and each of us got 5, cleaned them right out - used RS 10% coupon from their website (check weekly ad section) and got each unit at -$18 LOL...

hotter deal then anything i saw on BF - told you! would not be surprised to see another smoking hot deal like this tonight or tomorrow - ty radio shack!!!

Attached are the two rebate forms.

I also have a MDI file of the screen printout when it was showing both offers. Don't have Adobe installed on the new computer yet, so couldn't save it as a PDF.

I'm pissed. I now have 11 of these darn machines. Only one of which is even the correct UPC for both rebates. I don't even know whether it's worth trying the ONE - I would NOT have bought the thing for even $20 because it simply was not on our list. So I don't know if it's worth the chance even with all the "proof" that it WAS a valid offer. Pissed mostly because I saw this post this morning (which was a great post by the way!) and ran off and bought all these to find out when I got home that they yanked it.

They do say in the fine print that they "reserve the right to modify or withdraw this offer at any time for any reason."

i guess i will just skip out on this being that the manager said that they will not be responsible for the error...also think how long do you have to return a item back to RS, i think that it said that the rebate would take 10-12 weeks (if it even worked) would rather just play it safe then to lose out i guess....

Has anybody gotten this rebate yet? Do we even know if you can get the $65.00 rebate and the 70.00 rebate stacked?? Or was this just a scam!?

I haven't sent mine in yet, thinking about just returning the two units I got, because I don't want to remove the UPC's and send them in and then find out that Radio Shack will not honor them...What did everyone else do??

i decided not to purchase one because no one really knew if it was for real or not...honestly i think that it might have been a mistake. but i'm the same as you henny penny..i didn't want to take the upc's off and then not be able to return them!! well keep us filled in, i would like to know the outcome of this just in case they decide to do this offer again!

OKAY, so I finally called Radio Shack to see what the story was on the 2 rebates and if they both could be used. The rep told me the $70.00 rebate was a mistake and was pulled! Therefore, they will not be honoring the $70.00 rebate, only the $65.00 one! That answered the question for me! Both of them will be going back!!!!!!!!

ok its your money - but what did you expect they would tell you? if you're calling them and asking it sounds like you want them to tell you that so you will return it - ok if that is what makes you comfortable - that is fine - but it has been my experience these types of rebates will stand - that's why i'm here suggesting it's a good idea.. etc..

in the future, ask for it in writing..

I mailed in five of them. then I called asking about the rebate and they told me it was no good, so I told him he could go back to the 5 people I gave them to for christmas and ask for them back. He told me if the rebates were submitted there is nothing they could do but honor them, there was no way for anyone to know it was pulled.

well i guess that all that you can do now is wait and see what happens...if it works ...then good for you, if it doesn't work...then i would be really upset. i just didn't take the chance since it was 50/50 not 100%!!!
