I often burn a few cents of ECBs instead of adding a filler and have never had a problem until yesterday. My $0 OOP required the manager to approve the transaction. It gave the dreaded beep! The cashier said it's a new requirement.

This might explain some of the problems others have been having when they were not able to use their ECBs to pay $0.00 OOP - and they were told to add another item. I bet in actually the register beep meant they needed a manager approval!

That is interesting. I had 0.00 OOP once and everything went through just fine. So far, my store has been great with Q's and ECBs, etc. Thank goodness since it's the only one within 2 hours.

I had the same thing happen the other night, twice! I think it is something new with the computer to check up on coupons and the cashiers.

The same thing happened to me also today. I tried to burn 2 cents & the cashier told me that I have called for the manager for approval. She did approve though.. But thats not a good sign for me... coz most of the times i am ZERO OOP. Dont want to get famous with the management .. LOL

I ended up buying candy as a filler twice yesterday because cashier didn't know how to adjust my ECB to cover the total, which resulted in a few cents credit.

My oop was 0.00 this morning, everything went through fine. It really surprised me cause I've never had a 0.00 oop before & just new it was gonna beep. Didn't even need the manager.

We had two transactions at $0.01 each this weekend and one today that was -$ so I added candy bar - total $.85!

I did 2 transactions today with 0 oop and the manager didn't need to approve. I wonder if that's store specific or something that will eventually get to every store?

They are making their own rules, I've had $0 oop many times before.

I thought you couldn't use ECBs for tax? That is why I never have $0 oop. Unless I am buying strictly grocery items (which have no tax in MN).

I also have had it many times before and at this same store. This time it was different. The manager walked over, said hi, did something to the register and handed me my receipt and I was on my way.

I think it depends n the state in which you live. In Taxachusetts (ahem, I mean Massachusetts) it will take off the tax.

Every CVS and Wags seems to make up their own rules - the cashier today called over the manager because I had a .23 cent total - I didn't even need a filler.

I had 3 $0.00 totals today and no one said a thing, no manager needed.

No probs with my 3 $0.00 OOP today. I also had a 0.02 and a 0.03 with no probs.
I was told today for the first time ever that they could not adjust ECBs down...
However, after she told me this and I was FORCED to buy 2 Starburst packs and pay like 0.40 oop... she did adjust down two of my $0.00 oop transactions... I lost about 0.30 on one and just 0.03 or so on the other, but she did not even ask, she just adjusted them. LITERALLY right after telling me it was no longer possible...

The stores around here have stopped adjusting ecbs so a filler is always needed. On the Thanksgiving day deals I had several exact ecbs for products and it required manager approval for a 0.00 purchase. But I have done it since then and had no problems. Who knows what's going on with their computers! I am sure none of the store employees really know whats going on.
