Question Proper way to do refunds if it is sellers fault?

I just bought some clothing on ebay and one of the sweatshirts had a noticable stain on it. The seller failed to mention this in the bid and admitted to being careless in not noticing it. She gave me the option to send it back to her to get a full refund, but who is responisible for the shipping? Anyone have a similar situation?

Did you read the auction and see what it said about returns? What does it say about shipping to return.

It didn't list anything as far as returns, except that she took no returns. But if it is misrepresented this is usually null and void. I know she just started selling, so I think she learned a lesson.

I would email her and explain that she has the option to make it right. The right thing to do for her is to offer 1/2 the price or all of the price of the shipping. If you don't want to do either you should file a paypal claim as item not as described.....

Thanks...she did offer to give me the purchase price back if I sent it back or half if I kept it. I wanted to return it but then I would have to pay shipping, which defeats the purpose. She ended up giving me the $10 back and I kept the sweatshirt.

I just felt that if it was her fault by misrepresenting the item she should incur the extra cost not me. I bet next time she will be extra careful.
