I thought that since Publix participates in the Upromise rewards that I would post a list of the ecoupons for this month, since there are some that can be combined with Publix and mfr coupons. Keep in mind that you will pay the amount after Publix and mfr coupons directly to Publix, and then the company (Domino Kosher Salt or Sea Salt, for example) will deposit said amount that was an ecoupon (not deducted from your purchase, but from the manufacturer) into your Upromise account for your children.

You can only use each ecoupon once, as I found out last month to my dismay after buying four of something and getting credit for only one.

Go to Upromise.com and create an account to save for your child/children. It will most likely prompt you to activate the coupons. You add your store cards such as Winn Dixie and Publix to your account, and also your debit/credit cards in order to save. When you activate the ecoupons, they are put onto your store cards, not credit/debit cards.
Keep in mind that you won't see the price of the coupon come off at the register, but you will see the price of the coupon contributed to your Upromise account. I see it this way, if you can't afford to start a college savings fund, or think you don't have money to deposit into it, these ecoupons and the regular percentage savings they offer are the best! They add up over time as well. You will get percentages of 1000s of items contributed to your account every time you use your store cards. We get a percentage of our gas when we use our Debit card at an Exxon/Mobil gas station. Also, they have a diners program, and if you have restaurants in your area that participate, you can get usually around 10% of your bill contributed using your debit card.
Oh, and don't forget they have percentages of your purchases at participating retailers online that contribute when you shop through them online. I recently spent around $20 at Lane Bryant, and got .57 for it using their link.

NOTE-
You have to get a special UPROMISE Publix card from customer service. AT least I did. I first asked the cashier who said "oh we don't use them anymore everyone gets the sales price." So I check with CS and she gave me one that had Upromise on it.

Yeah, all Publix have them at CS. I think the cashier you encountered didn't realise that the store card only saves for Upromise, and doesn't give discounts like other store cards.
