Also, after reading another thread, please be VERY careful when checking out on restaurant.com. After choosing your certificate it will ask you if you want $10 back on the purchase you just made. They want your email and fill out a very short survey, BUT it will sign you up in some promotional thing and automatically charge you 14.95 each month. So DON'T be tempted to get $10 back! |

Do you have to pick a specific restaurant or is the certificate good at any of their participating restaurants? I guess I can go play on their website too....

| You have to pick a specific resturant. Make sure you read the fine print before ordering. Some places you have to spend "X" amount of dollars in order to use the certificate.

I have always thought Restaurant.com was a good deal for $10. However, you can't beat getting the certificates for only $2!! Thanks for the tip. I wish that more restaurants would participate in this... |

I got burned and will never do this one again. This is a certificate for money off and NOT a gift card. So you are paying for a coupon. Mine was to Mrs Fields and can be used online only and must have at least a $75 purchase ($75 worth of cookies???). Also does not include shipping. So my $25 discount would still make the cookies $50 plus shipping.

I am sorry you got burned, but many of us really love this site. I have used them for 4 years now, dozens of times. I have even purchased a certificate to a place that went out of business and they were so nice about letting me get a different one. This truly is the only way we go out to eat. You are right, it is like a coupon, but we order $35 worth of food and get to use a $25 coupon. So only $10 to feed a family of five is awesome!

This would be good if there were restaurants in your area. There is not any around me so I chose the Mrs Fields to use online. Should have read the fine print on that! My bad, LOL. Sounds like a good deal for you though and I'm glad to see you saving money. I would too!! I have 4 of the Mrs Fields certificates if anyone wants 1 or all just pm and they are yours!!! |

You are right about reading the fine print, but each certificate has a phone number to call for specifics. Several new restaurants were added since I looked last time in my area so I decided to call a newly added BBQ joint to see if we could do a take out...big Ohio State Football game this weekend. The certificate said eat in but when I called he said no problem about take out. So I will feed all the rabid Ohio State fans BBQ for $10 (plus the initial $2). I couldn't make that amount of food that cheap. I do find though that the "better" restaurants limit the number of certificates they offer and so they are never around when the discount comes up. ![]() One tip, if you know you are going somewhere for a trip, get the zip code and see which restaurants are offering. The certificates are good for a year and so using them on vacation is one thing I am going to try to do, especially if I know the area and the restaurants. Happy eating!! |

| No, you get an email after you purchase that gives you the link to print. There is no rush, just don't loose the email! I just printed mine on nice stationary to spruce them up for gift giving!

This is a great way to save if you have participating restaurants in your area. Yes you are buying a cpn towards your purchase, but that can be as little as $2 for a $25 cpn off an order of like say $35. So if you are going to be going out to dinner and spending $35, with the cpn you can actually spend as little as $12. To me that makes sense to save so much even though it is just a cpn. This allows us to go out to eat a lot more that we could afford to otherwise. Just make sure you watch the restrictions and other information for the participating restaurant. |

Don’t forget to get the Resturant.com gift certificates if your fav. restaurant is sold out. My favorite restaurant is never available during these deals, so I go ahead and get the GC for when they are available again. The GC’s are available with the discount as well, so this allows me to get the ones that I want later for the discounted price.

| You will have an account set up when you purchase them. You can then go back at anytime before they expire (up to a year after purchase) and print them when you are ready to use them. I only print them right before we go out to eat, and then I mark the site that I have used them, so that I don't forget and try to reuse it.
