| IP's at Kmart?
I think that I remember seeing somewhere that K-Mart wasn't accepting IP's. I couldn't find the post that mentioned it. Does anyone know if they accept them or not?

The only IP's they will accept is their own which is usually a $5/$50.

Well to be honest it seems a bit confusing at this point. Last week when they had the super doubles I had spoken to the store manager at our local K Mart. He told me that K Mart had changed their policy and were now going to take the IP. I went to the super doubles and used many IP's on my shopping trip. Even made a second trip and used them. Then my aunt went to the store and she told me that they had a hand writtien sign on the door stating that they would not take them. In the middle of the week in the middle of a sale, they changed their minds??? I called the store and the person whom I spoke with, was a manger, but did not really seem to know what was going on. She had to put me on hold, and when she came back, it was just the way she spoke on the phone, as if she was confused. I have emailed my local manager to ask him to clarify what the policy is now, but so far have not received an answer. I think maybe I will email corporate today to see what they say. If I do indeed receive an answer then I will post it here. Hope I have been of some help to you, it would be nice to find out just exactly where they stand on this. |

I just emailed corporate regarding what is their official policy on using IP's within their stores, will wait to get a response and then I will post it here. It would surely be nice to know given the fact that they are planning another super doubles in just a few days. We could get ready, will let everyone know once I receive an answer. |

| K Mart Corporate Response November 5, 2008
Well it didn't take them long to respond. Here is a copy of what I received. Boo Hoo!!! Original Message Follows: ------------------------ Hello, I wanted to take the time to contact corporate in order to find out information on store policies. I currently live in Ohio and shop at the K Mart located on Old Troy Pike, Huber Heights, Ohio. Two weeks ago I took the time to call the store manager Ben and speak with him regarding the upcoming Super Doubles's Sale that K Mart had. He assured me that K Mart had recently changed their polices regarding coupons that have been printed from the Internet and that K Mart would now accept them. He also informed me that if I signed up at the company website that I would receive the ad in email that would also have links in it that would print coupons that could only be used at K Mart. However in the middle of the week they posted a sign on the door announcing that they would not take internet printable coupons. So this makes the whole matter a bit confusing, the fact that I went to the store on Sunday October 26, 2008 and made purchases and used internet printable coupons along with coupons from the Sunday coupon inserts. Then my aunt went to the store and the sign was on the door, they changed what they said in the middle of the week in the middle of a sale?? I have tried to reach Ben at the store to speak with him, however he was busy with conference calls when I phoned the store. I spoke with a female manager and to tell you the truth, she did not seem to really know what was going on with the issue. It is for this reason that I decided to email corporate and try to find out what exactly is K Mart's policy on the use of internet printable coupons? I would very much appreciate a response from someone, as I also teach classes at my local library on using coupons to help lower your cost for items. In my class I speak about using them from the Sunday newspaper inserts as well as the ability to print them from the internet. I will be teaching a class next week on Thursday November 13, 2008 for a group of ladies from my aunts church. I would like to be able to tell them correctly what your store polices are. Thank you for your time regarding my inquires, Their Reply: Thank you for your recent correspondence. We are always interested in hearing from our customers, and regret it was this type of situation that prompted you to contact us. We apologize for the inconvenience you have experienced and understand your frustration with the conflicting information. Kmart does not accept internet coupons accept those directly from Kmart. Once again, we apologize for your experience with the internet coupons. We appreciate your business, and value you as a customer. We certainly hope you will continue to make Sears Holdings Corporation your choice for quality and value. Sincerely, Brooke G. National Customer Relations Sears Holdings Corporation |

I've written to them in the past as well. Their policy is that they do not accept IP's. I know many people use them and the cashiers take them because they do not know the policies a lot of the time, but you should really just not plan on using them since their policy is to not take them.

It is no wonder that corporations go broke! One hand does not know what the other is doing. It seems that the management is really bad at Sears Holding. I bet if we all quit shopping at K mart and sears for one month and took our Q's, IP's and all, to other stores they would change their minds on IP q's. Thanks Irismania for doing this for all of us.

Thanks for the information. I am planning on doing the double coupons in a couple of weeks and wanted to be prepared if they weren't going to take them. Thanks for doing the footwork for us.
