Meat and produce mostly.... sometimes things like their giant muffins that Tanner loves to take to work.

OK, after reading the posts here - I am almost ready to renew my membership. Do you all really think it's worth it? Even with coupon shopping other places??

YES! But only for things you can't use coupons on elsewhere, like milk, produce, meat, eggs, and things like that. I was actually there last night and also noticed that a lot of medicines are half the price they are in stores, which even a really good coupon won't match. Some places (like Food Lion) have their milk deals (B6G7th Free) but they jack up the milk prices so much it's still cheaper to buy milk at Sam's. Also, pre-washed/prepared salads sometimes have coupons, but you still get 3 times as much lettuce at Sam's for the same price as you would at grocery stores, even with coupons. (Excluding triples week.)

I love their book select especially for kids... there are such GREAT prices to get as gifts. Produce is good price, but I would ask your friends if they want to split some of them, not very many households can use like 5lbs of lettuce before it goes bad. Their bakery has good prices, get all of my b-day cake for there.

Do they carry organic milk? If so, anyone know how much it is for 1/2 gallons? We don't drink a lot of milk, so I like to get the organic when I buy it.

Maybe I'm just not a good couponer, but I can't find Huggies wipes cheaper than at Sam's. We don't go too often, but we buy coffee beans, parmigiano reggiano (cheese), frozen tilapia filets, granola bars, and milk. My company buys my membership, otherwise I don't think it would be worth it to me. Oh, and they do have really cool toys at Christmas. |

We have always gotten boneless, skinless chicken breast here and since ds has come along we get Huggies, wipes and we used to get his formula there. I have just started couponing and would love to know how to get diapers for free as others have mentioned. Sometimes they have huge, delicious yummy grapes for sale too. Their chicken wings are also really cheap compared to other places. And their buffalo chicken stips too. I'm making myself hungry. |

Yep, produce and meat and milk is cheapest there compared to ALL other stores!!! Before I was a serious couponer I'd get laundry detergent there. Also, watch for clearance after the holidays.... I have bought TONS of toys for my boys for dirt cheap. I bought a big work bench for DH to put together for my boys for less then $25 valued at $100++. We also bought a little desk for them for less then $20 that was like originally $50. I'm waiting for the little Step 2 roller coaster thingy to go on clearance to get for my youngest. They always have neat stuff and great clearance!

No one's mentioned furniture. We've gotten several items of furniture there, and it's always cheaper than anywhere else, and it has always been good quality furniture, solid wood, etc. Other larger items, like pool tables, or patio furniture is also always better quality and cheaper than I've found it elsewhere. The main problem I have with shopping at Sam's is that my DH always goes with me, and he just throws stuff in the cart, and when I finally check out, it's over $200! So, I try not to mention going there too often. |

Peppers, grapes, raspberries (my weakness), salad mix, chicken fresh and frozen, chicken strips, breaded Flounder (fabulous) shrimp, beef brisket (for ballgame weekends), flowers, (grew up in the Florist business, Momma is a retired florist), birthday and christmas gifts (great prices on children's books, seasonal stuff). Pretzel crisps, bagel crisps, potato chips, french bread, mini crossiants. I LOVE SAMS! |

| Check out the CVS and Walgreens forum. Just last week Walgreens had diapers for $2.50 a pack. Look into the ECB's system at CVS. You can grow your ECB's and use them on diaper deals to get free diapers.

My DH has a card that his brother got him (since you get 2 cards, he just put DH's name down to get his other one). They started putting pics on them, of course, but can I use his card? I can't see paying $40 for a membership when DH has a card - and he doesn't even LIKE going to Sam's so I can't even drag him in there for me to shop. ![]() Kandikid beat me to it - the CVS forum is the best for getting free wipes, diapers, etc.. I don't really like WAGS much (due to just bad experiences at mine) but CVS is the bomb for baby stuff. |

I think Sam's is great for some things like: Bottle water (Pure life 32 or 36 pack not sure) for $3.88 Frozen chicken breast (Tyson trimmed and ready, I never have coupons for those.) Romaine lettuce sometimes I splurge and get some other things that I can't find everywhere. Also GAS! It's awesome!! Always cheaper then anywhere else by at least 5 to 10 cents a gallon. We live right next to a Sam's club so it's totally worth it!

Ohhhhhh, one thing that I got there for DSS's coming home party earlier this year --- the little mini cheesecakes! They are PERFECT for parties - and you get like 60 for $9. We still have a extra box in the deep freeze, actually.... hmmmm..... |

milk meat produce frozen strawberries and fruit- great deals! Dog food- store brand canned- great buy! Purina (if I don't have coupons) Ketchup DH is a brand snob Applesauce in a large jar- we don't buy single serving items when we have parties- I do the click and pull and buy bottled water, hot dogs, buns, etc. I love some of their cheeses and freezer items too. Never buy soda there- way expensive!

Oh and, you can do this thing called click and pull. You place your order online (you don't have to pay for it until you pick it up) and you can then go in the store to customer service and pick it up. They have it all set aside for you behind the desk, and your cold items in their walk in fridges/freezers. You are in and out in 5 minutes. With a 20 month old in tow, I do this type of shopping quite often. Draw back is they don't have every product available on line through the click and pull (some of their meats aren't on there). Check it out- its a huge timesaver! And money saver too, since you aren't waking around the store

Oh the cheesecake factory cheesecake...same as from the cheesecakefactory and way less... Oh and don't forget the Wii Bundle they will be selling on black friday. I think you can use hubby's card but if you pay with cc it has to be in his name. We have a business account and hubby and I each have a card and then we have an extra with the business name (anyone can use) but if you are using that one you have to use a business check (or possibly a credit card)... |

As far as the membership card question, I'm not sure. May want to give Sams a call on that one. Since you are married and in the same HH, there may not be a fee for an added card. HTH!

We buy bottled water and gatorade there in the summer. We own a landscape company and can't get enough of that. I also buy butter there, but we tend to go through a ton of that. Those are the 2 that I consistently get there. They do have the best price on whole chickens. I agree on the produce, milk, cheese, etc. But on the pre-made stuff (boxed and frozen) you can usually do better at WM with Q's |
