| 17 shopping trips
Ok so I love this double coupons but I am exhausted. I counted up the reciepts I have (not sure if I lost any or not) I made a total of 17 shopping trips. Total spent $75.38. Total Saved $2,312. I feel like I am robbing them after this week. I love what I got but it still amazes me. I made one last shopping trip, actually I went in for beauty books ONLY but then since I was there I needed to atleast buy a couple things since I could get them for free, and since I was buying a couple I might as well buy $50 worth so I could get the $5 off $50, well anyways when all was said and done I spent $0.95 on $110 worth of stuff and got a $3 cattalina back for anything in the store by 11-15. My cashier was shocked (as most are after my trips) he's like all that for 95 cents, well I have never seen anything like that before. That was one of my smaller trips. One of my bigger trips I went to return stuff from because the computer froze and some of my coupons didn't go through and I figured it out later. Well so I returned some stuff and the recipt was about 4 feet long (literally) and the manager did the return was like WOW I wish this sale had gone to our store and she looked at what I saved and what I spent, I saved $398 and spent $14.11 but then I returned some dove for $10 because my coupons didn't come off for those my total should have been about $6. That manager was so nice about it all too. I feel guilty about returning stuff whe my total is so low but it bothers me when the computer freezes and the coupons don't go through exactly right. Any one else exausted after this week. And does anyone else feel kind of guilty for how much free stuff you can get?? Or do you feel like some how you are going to get into trouble for who knows what?? I seriously feel like I am robbing them when I get sooo much stuff for free. Almost like somehow I am going to get into trouble or go to jail for it all. |

Nope, I don't feel guilty at all! Not after what I learned yesterday... when I was at Walgreens, one of the managers was marking down Halloween candy. He was joking around with customers, including me, and said something, buy it up or I gotta throw it out! I questioned him on it and he told me they only have so much time to get rid of it, due to new inventory come in for Christmas, and Walgreens cannot/will not donate it to charity due to liability issues that might arise. He did also say WAGS donates $15 million in goods every year (remember that companies do get favorable tax write offs when they donate), but they won't let them donate out the candy due to liability reasons. Oh, it disturbs me that they will end up just throwing away the leftovers! My DH said, find out where their dumpster is - he said even he would dumpster dive for peanut M&Ms!! Also, I noticed the card couple at KMart, removing all the Halloween cards, stickers, etc. I approached them (knowing full well they throw them out!), and asked what they do with the leftevers - once again, I was told they have to through them out!! They did let me rifle throuh them for envies, and I got a nice big stack of orange ones, which is great, because my DD will graduate form high school next year, and I think we shoud be able to use the orange envies to mail out homemade party invites, announcements, etc. Again, that kind of waste is terrible - I cannot imagine that American Greetings is concerned about liability issues with greeting cards! Is this why so many products are priced too high? The companies just pitch the leftover ones? Haven't they heard of stockpiling for next year? I'm sure they want a wole new look for next Halloween (like it really matters!) |

Great job at K-Mart doubles event. That is a shame about Wags candy...however, I doubt they have to throw much away. Once it is marked down it goes like crazy.
