Let me start by saying I haven't been to K-Mart in a VERY long time so I had no idea what to expect but was very excited by the prospect of doubling $1 & $2 coupons. What I found were prices that, in many instances, were much higher than I had seen most anywhere else, making the doubled coups pretty much a moot point. No wonder WalMart and Target are eating K-Mart's lunch!!

Maybe I just didn't have the right coupons but it was an overall disappointing trip for me. Got much better deals at Harris Teeter.

As a side note, the Bridford Pkwy. store in Greensboro, NC is slated to be scaled down to from a Super K to Big K by the end of this year.

I was at that one yesterday, I did not have the beauty book on the first day so I did not know about the Dove q until reading a thread last night, so I went by and got me some and went back again today to see they were all out. I do agree with you that their prices are much steeper and like you I do not frequent Kmart at all but when I heard about this super q thing I wanted to get in on it. Without the q I would not buy anything but since they were doubled I did find deals that were cheaper than I normally would pay.

While checking out the frozen section I was looking for the Steamfresh meals for two and the stocker said we are all out and I asked him were they restocking and that is when I found out they will no longer have the grocery section and will become a Big K, so I assume the closet to us will be the Raleigh-Durham, Cary stores, do you know if they are scaling back as well?
