| Target Markdown Schedule (year-round and Holiday) Year-round: (note: this may vary from store to store, but this is the general rule) Monday -- Infants department, Kids clothing and Electronics (maybe food also) Tuesday -- Women's clothing, Domestics Wednesday -- Men's clothing, Garden, Toys, Health and Beauty Thursday -- Lingerie, Shoes, Housewares, Sporting Goods, Luggage Friday -- Cosmetics, Hardware, Auto, Home Improvement and Jewelry Holidays: All holidays except Christmas follow the 3-3-2 rule: The first 3 days after the holiday are 50% off. The next 3 days are 75% off. The next 2 days are 90%. After that it goes to salvage. Valentines 3-3-2 Easter 3-3-2 4th of July 3-3-2 (since it's always on July 4, the schedule stays the same) July 5 = 50% off Halloween (since it's always on Oct. 31, the schedule stays the same) Nov 1st = 50% offThanksgiving 3-3-2 Christmas

If memory serves me correctly Xmas is 3-2-2 with New Year's eve (31st) day being 90%. Can anyone else confirm?

no, no, no.... Last year 90% wasn't until Jan 6! 75% happened on Dec. 30. Unfortunately, I don't think that's the same way it happened the year before that. Christmas is just one of those times that doesn't seem to have a set schedule. And even with those dates listed, not everyone's stores followed the same schedule last year. |

I was in a Target today, and people had carts full of stuff. Made me wonder if there will be anything left to mark down more than 50%. The only thing I bought was wrapping tissue.

Be careful about shopping for Christmas too early from Target. They will only accept returns before 90 days. I learned the hard way! |

What about those school supplies? They are still 30% here (going on 2weeks now) |

Ok, Lynda...I'll stop my whining about a measly 30%. I'm thinking they must not have received enough seasonal items to fill that area. Thus, the reason for not marking the down further/quicker. We'll just spend out money on something else, huh? |

I see the clearance schedule but I was wondering how long it stays on 30 then to 50 then to 75 and finally 90% for the weekly stuff? They have some cute toys at mine but they are still at 30% and if it is going down anymore I want to wait

Usually it will stay for 2 weeks at the markdown price. It also depends on if there is a bunch of that item left too. If they have a bunch and want it gone, the manager has the right to mark it down sooner to get ready for the new stuff.

I work for Target. There is no schedule. It all goes by sales. If it's selling well it gets marked down slower.

| I work for Target as well and know there is a schedule, but each store is able to mark down items as they see fit. So, like you said, if an item is selling fast/slow, that will change it's clearance factor. But they do clearance for certain departments on certain nights. It's the overnight team's job.

Wish they have a clear schedule for Christmas markdowns. Guess I just have to make lots of trips to Target, but I am doing it anyway to use the Huggie coupons.
